About This Pub

Ah, Junction Micro Pub in Stretton – it's one of those places that just warms your cockles on a chilly evening in Burton-on-Trent. I've got to say, the real highlight is their cracking selection of beers; they're all sourced locally, with everything from light milds to bold stouts and even gluten-free choices that keep things inclusive. The folks running it are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure you feel welcome, which really gives it that homely, community feel. Prices are fair too, so you can enjoy a few without worrying about the tab. On the flip side, though, the toilets aren't the most user-friendly for those with disabilities, and it can get a bit too hushed without any tunes in the background – I reckon it'd benefit from a little more atmosphere to liven things up. Overall, it's a solid spot for beer aficionados looking for a relaxed catch-up, but keep in mind those minor drawbacks if you're planning a visit with mates. I'd pop in again for sure, as long as I check the opening times first!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beer selection is absolutely spot on, with a fantastic rotating range of quality ales and ciders from local Staffordshire and Derbyshire breweries – perfect for anyone who loves exploring new flavours like IPAs, stouts, or even gluten-free options.
  • The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, run by a lovely couple who make you feel right at home; it's that kind of place where you can have a good chat and soak up the community spirit.
  • Prices are pretty reasonable for what you get, making it a great spot for a casual night out without breaking the bank.
  • They've got some thoughtful touches, like hosting events such as the gluten-free beer festival, which adds a fun twist and caters to different preferences.
Cons
  • The toilets aren't the most accessible, which might be a bit of a hassle for anyone with mobility needs – it's clean and tidy, but not ideal for everyone.
  • It can feel a tad quiet without any background music, so if you're after a lively buzz, you might miss that extra layer of ambiance.
  • The operating hours seem a bit inconsistent from what's listed, so it's worth double-checking before you head out to avoid any disappointment.

We had a fabulous time here at the Gluten Free Beer Festival 12 th June to 15 th 2025 which is apparently to be repeated yearly. Excellent beer , 6 hand pumps and one cask all gf. Plus cans in fridge . Non beer festival time there is always one gf option possibly two. Hosts were fabulous, all very welcoming. Gluten free fish and chips can be ordered from the local fish and chip shop and eaten in the pub . Perfect ! Thanks for a great weekend 🥰

Mercia Marina put in their May newsletter about this little gem of a pub and it is an excellent micro pub, very friendly and landlord and landlady are lovely as are the people that frequent it, we will definitely go there again and with no locks from Mercia Marina even better, we thoroughly recommend this place, please go and see for yourself...

Nice and cosy little slick bar. Lots of guest ales, ciders and fancy gins available. Toilets are not so disabled friendly and just one for both men and women, but clean and tidy. Could do with a bit of background music, but did enjoy the experience overall
