About This Pub
Ah, John Milne Table Table – it's one of those places that feels like a reliable old mate in the Rochdale area, you know? The food's a real highlight; I've heard from folks that the new lunch dishes are absolute bargains, and there are some cracking vegan options that even meat lovers might fancy giving a go. The staff can be wonderfully cheerful and attentive, making you feel right at home, and that outdoor space is just the ticket for a relaxed drink or watching the game. But, let's be straight, it's not all smooth sailing – there are tales of waits stretching on a bit too long, and the occasional run-in with a less than pleasant manager or mix-ups with orders that might leave you scratching your head. Still, with its community spirit and solid grub, I'd say it's worth popping in if you're nearby, just perhaps aim for a quieter time to avoid any potential faff.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is generally spot on, with tasty options like grilled chicken Caesar flatbread and brilliant vegan choices that really hit the spot.
-
Friendly staff who make an effort to help and create a welcoming atmosphere, especially when it comes to recommending dishes or handling special requests.
-
A great outdoor dining area that's perfect for soaking up the fresh air, especially on a sunny day, and they show live sport too.
-
Affordable lunch deals with mains from just £5, plus a variety of menus including breakfast and kids' options, making it ideal for family outings or a quick bite.
Cons
-
There can be long waits for food, which might leave you a bit frustrated if you're in a hurry.
-
Some service slip-ups, like getting orders wrong or dealing with a rude manager, which can put a dampener on the evening.
-
Cleanliness isn't always up to scratch, with reports of dirty floors and tables that could do with a bit more attention.

We stayed next door at the Premier Inn. Arrived early so had drinks & a meal in the restaurant. The carpet was dirty and still was the morning after (chips & other food on the floor). We were overcharged for a round of drinks, as the assistant said she wasn't sure if we had paid for our first drinks, at the bar!
We met friends in the bar before we went to a wedding and the whole bar area felt dirty, tables although cleared still had food on.
3 visits in 2 days and feel it needs a proper clean.
Not much interaction with staff, other than to sort out the overcharge which she didn't even apologise!
Me and my fiance were booked to stay at the Premier Inn next door. We spent all evening in the pub enjoying the large outdoor space whilst having food and drinks. The food was perfect, we had no issues with it and the drinks were varied and well priced. All the staff were cheerful and couldn't do enough for us, especially the Manager Ben, he was so friendly, involved and welcoming. All our servers were brilliant too I only remember Erin's name unfortunately but they all deserve the praise! We will be definitely returning again soon
Had not been here for ages but loved it! What changed? Staff seemed happy and reflected well in the service. Food was good but overall experience was first class. Well done.
We waited an hour and a half for our food, we kept getting told it's being plated up to wait another 20mins. The manager was ridiculously rude and obnoxious towards our table. They also cooked the steak wrong twice (only wanted it rare). The staff didn't want anything to do with the table and kept ignoring us. But on the positive side the food was actually pretty nice just ashame about the rest of the night.
The food here was fantastic and reasonably priced. Holly was incredibly kind and helped us choose the best vegan options. My favourite dish was the vegan sausage, which was absolutely incredible—kudos to Chef Mike! Overall, it’s a great spot for brunch, and I highly recommend it!
