About This Pub
Ah, The Lodge, what a gem it's turned into! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place has really upped its game with a fresh refurb that makes it feel warm and inviting, perfect for sinking into a comfy seat with a pint or a fancy cocktail. The staff are absolute stars, always on hand with that friendly chat and quick service that keeps things flowing smoothly, and the atmosphere really shines during events like live music nights or holidays – I mean, who could say no to reasonable prices and a bit of fizz on New Year's? It's got this great outside area too, which is ideal for a breather or enjoying the fresh air. On the flip side, though, the opening times seem a tad muddled, which might catch you out if you're hoping for a late one, and without a website, it's not the easiest to plan a visit. Still, if you're local or fancy a drive, it's worth popping in for a relaxed evening – just go with the flow and you'll have a brilliant time, I reckon.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and provide excellent service, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's got a brilliant atmosphere, especially with live music and events like New Year's Eve, where you get great value for money – think £40 for two with perks like a glass of fizz and food.
-
The recent refurbishment has transformed the place; it's now warm, welcoming, and looks spot on, with plenty of room to relax or even dance.
-
Prices are really reasonable for drinks and experiences, and there's a lovely outside area that's perfect for a chat or a smoke on a nice day.
-
As a sports bar and cocktail lounge, it's ideal for catching up with mates over beers or cocktails, and the overall vibe is just spot on for a local night out.
Cons
-
The operating hours can be a bit confusing with multiple listings for Sundays, which might leave you scratching your head about when it's actually open beyond the typical early close.
-
There's no website listed, so it's tricky to check menus, events, or directions online before heading out, which could be a hassle if you're planning ahead.
-
Being in a specific spot like Newhey, Rochdale, it might not be the easiest to get to for folks not in the area, potentially limiting its appeal for a wider crowd.

Had a fantastic night at the lodge..(Easter Sunday)they had a really good singer on and fantastic music, plenty of room to dance. The price of drinks very reasonable...it's a great local friendly place to go, I love the refurb they have done downstairs, very nice indeed.
Excellent sports bar. Clean, very friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Nice outside area ( for any smokers) although there was more non smoking customers out there. Would recommend if you are in the area
