About This Pub

Ah, the Horse And Jockey – it's one of those pubs that really grows on you once you step inside. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got that genuine community spirit going for it; folks rave about how welcoming it is, like chatting with old mates right from the off. The beer is spot on and won't set you back much, which is always a win for a relaxed catch-up. Plus, with a big telly for the footie and a pool table in the side room, there's plenty to keep the evening buzzing. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect – I've heard a few grumbles about the food not quite living up to expectations, so you might want to grab a bite elsewhere before heading over. And watch out for that road crossing; it sounds a bit hairy and could put a dampener on things. All in all, it's a cracking little spot if you're after good company and a decent pint, just keep those minor downsides in mind for a smoother visit.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making it feel like a true community hub where everyone gets along.
  • They serve great beer at affordable prices, perfect for a casual night out without emptying your wallet.
  • There's a big TV screen and a pool table, adding some fun entertainment options for a lively evening with friends.
Cons
  • Opening hours can be a bit confusing and inconsistent, which might leave you unsure about when to pop in.
  • The food isn't up to par, with some saying it's not the best they've had, so you might want to skip the meals.
  • Getting to the pub involves crossing a busy road, which can feel a tad risky and off-putting.
