About This Pub
Ah, Henry's in Belfast – what a gem it is for a relaxed pint or a bite to eat with mates. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the place really shines with its superb food offerings; folks are going on about how delicious everything is, from fish and chips to burgers, and there are some cracking deals that make it easy on the wallet. The atmosphere is spot on if you're up for some sports vibes or just want to dive into that historic jailhouse feel, and the staff come across as genuinely friendly, adding to the warm welcome. It's also a plus that they cater to dog owners, making it a flexible spot for all sorts. On the flip side, it might not be everyone's idea of a perfect night out – if you're after something a bit more subdued, the sports bar energy could feel a touch too energetic. And do keep in mind, it's nestled in a quiet alley off the main drag, so it pays to know where you're headed. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good time in Belfast, with plenty to love and just a few things to bear in mind for the best experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely superb – reviewers are raving about the tasty dishes and great value deals, like the two mains and a bottle of wine for under £30.
-
It's got a fantastic atmosphere, especially if you fancy a spot of sports action or want to soak up some genuine Belfast history in this old jailhouse setting.
-
Friendly staff who make you feel right at home, plus it's dog-friendly, which is a lovely bonus for those popping in with their furry mates.
-
A cracking selection of drinks, from a perfect pint of Guinness to an impressive range of spirits, and don't miss the happy hour specials like two-for-one cocktails.
Cons
-
It might not suit everyone if you're not into sports bars – one visitor found it a bit too lively for their taste, so it could feel overwhelming if you're after something quieter.
-
The location's a tad tucked away up a small alley, which might make it tricky to spot if you're not familiar with the area around Belfast city centre.

It's a sports bar with food, so my husband loved the atmosphere but not really my scene, hence only 4 stars. But the food - WOW!!! The food is superb. They ought to give their chef a raise before somewhere else steals him/her.
Lovely little pub , great pint of Guinness and an impressive back bar of spirits. They do serve food but I didn't partake. Just popped in for a pint.
Tried to get a table in Whites Tavern but it was extremely busy
Big shout out to the Barman in Whites who reccomended Henry’s Bar
It’s located up a small alley opposite Whites Tavern
Menu is really good and reasonably priced Staff were very good and a bonus was they are dog freindly
Absolutely loved this place after finding it on our first trip to Belfast. You can feel the history inside this old jailhouse! Great friendly staff, a wide selection of drinks and a 2 for 1 cocktail special during happy hour. What’s not to love?
Called in for a bite of lunch, and it didn't disappoint. They had an offer of 2 mains and a bottle of wine for £29.75. This is a good deal, but sadly, I was driving. The fish and chips were tasty. My wife had the Samson burger, and again, it was tasty, and the chicken was moist.
At £15.50 a main dish I thought this was reasonable for dining in Belfast.
The staff were polite and attentive.
Thank you, Jade, for your service.
