About This Pub
Oh, what a gem Harvester Greyhound is for those lazy days out in Romford – it's got that homely feel where you can just kick back with a bite to eat and good company. I love how they've nailed the family side of things, with a menu full of hearty classics that cater to all tastes, from juicy steaks to vegan options, and that unlimited salad bar is just genius for when you're after something fresh. The staff really shine too; they're polite and attentive, always popping over to make sure everything's tickety-boo, which makes the whole experience that much more enjoyable. On the flip side, it's a shame if you're after something specific and it's not on offer, like missing items that can put a dampener on things, and while the service is solid, it doesn't always wow you. All in all, it's a solid spot for a casual get-together, but it's worth keeping expectations realistic – it's got plenty of charm, but like any place, it's not without its little faults.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely brilliant, with mouthwatering rotisserie chicken, grilled dishes, and an unlimited salad bar that keeps everyone coming back for more.
-
It's a proper family-friendly spot, where the menu has something for all ages, including options for vegetarians and vegans, making it easy to please everyone.
-
The staff are top-notch – think friendly servers like Summer and Hayley who go the extra mile, checking for allergies and ensuring you're well looked after.
-
The new decor is fresh and modern, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for relaxing after a day out.
-
It's conveniently located and open all week with generous portions, so you can pop in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner without any fuss.
Cons
-
Some menu items might be missing now and then, like that yoghurt bowl, which can be a bit disappointing if you're set on it.
-
While the service is generally good, it can sometimes feel just okay rather than outstanding, leaving you wanting a tad more attention.
-
It's not quite perfect for everyone; there might be little things that don't hit the mark, making it feel like it's missing that extra spark.

New decor is amazing. Bright, clean, modern and a well thought out layout. Our server Summer was lovely. Polite, happy and smiling. She checked for allergies which was great. She didn’t rush us and came to check everything was ok. Food was great! Food was served and plates were cleared in a timely manner. Staff made an effort to wish one of our party Happy Birthday as well. A lovely place to enjoy a meal with family or friends. Would definitely recommend.
Today I met the nicest waitress called Hayley which lead me to leave this review.
She was kind, attentive and really friendly! Hayley took extra time out from being very busy to make sure we were happy with the food, talked us through the top things in the menu, and really looked after me and my daughter. Hayley made dining today a really pleasurable experience and because of her we will return.
Came in for a breakfast was lovely, the new layout is also amazing.
Hayley with a p served us and asked If we had any allergies before taking our order.
Thank you

We went for breakfast here and it was an amazing experience with food and lovely ambience and we don’t have yoghurt bowl available that was a disappointment.
