About This Pub

Ah, The Eva Hart – it's one of those reliable Wetherspoon haunts that always delivers on value for money, isn't it? I've got to say, the pints are spot on and ridiculously cheap, making it a go-to for catching up with mates without breaking the bank. The atmosphere is lovely too, with its cosy corners and those neat historical photos that give it a bit of character and tie into the local area. From what I've seen in the reviews, the food can be a real winner when it's right, and the staff are often friendly and helpful, which just adds to the charm. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses – there have been a few grumbles about service being a bit off, like orders getting mixed up or staff not being as attentive as you'd hope, and that can really spoil an otherwise good evening. Still, with an overall rating hovering around 4.2, it's clear most folks have a positive time, especially if you pop in on a quieter day. All in all, if you're up for a solid pub experience in Chadwell Heath, I'd give it a go, but maybe keep expectations in check for the service side of things – it's a gem when everything clicks, but it has its off moments like any place.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The drinks are amazingly priced, just like most Wetherspoons, making it a brilliant spot for a budget-friendly night out.
  • The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, with plenty of nooks and crannies to settle in for a chat, meal, or just relaxing.
  • Staff can be really friendly and go above and beyond on good days, adding a nice touch to the experience.
  • It's conveniently located near the station and high street, perfect for a quick stop after a day out.
  • They've got a great selection of beers and ciders, and the food is generally tasty and reliable when it hits the mark.
  • The historical photos and decor related to Eva Hart add a charming local flavour that makes it feel a bit special.
Cons
  • Service can be hit or miss, with some reports of staff being a bit rude or ignorant, which puts a damper on things.
  • Food occasionally comes out undercooked or incorrect, and chasing up orders isn't always handled well.
  • It gets pretty busy on Friday nights, which might make it feel a tad overwhelming if you're after a quiet pint.
  • The manager's response to complaints has been described as blasé in a few cases, leaving a sour taste.
  • Some minor niggles, like the coffee machine not always being on upstairs, add to the frustration on busier days.

If i could rate zero stars I would. Starting from the service it was actually shocking and the manager was very Blase about our complaint. We ordered food and it was tasteless and undercooked and came in under 10 mins. Ordered deserts from downstairs only 3 people at the counter and other customer served first even though I was 2nd in the queue. The chocolate fudge cakes were dry and not hot like it's was charged for 3 instead of 2. Absolutely shocking and will not be eating in here again. The worst pub food and experience I have ever encountered.

Nice local Wetherspoons just a short walk from the station and Chadwell Heath High Street, It's a cut above the usual spoons. The food, drinks and atmosphere are good. Not too busy most days. The manager and all staff go above and beyond and are nice and friendly

Again another WS pub . Old police station , great selection of beer and cider. Very poor visit this time staff ignorant and borderline rude. Food good as always but order incorrect and mt the additional item for the main did not turn up . I had to chase it up . Response was poor . Will followup with head office All cool .... Staff were spot on . Food to standard. They did a great job serving ten all at the same. Upped a star 🌟 Curries are quality here

Comfortable cosy pub interior with numerous nooks and crannies to enjoy a meal or drink. Friendly staff. It would be more convenient if the upstairs coffee machine was switched on instead of having to go downstairs to topup but not a deal breaker. Lovely historic photos relating to Eva Hart and Chadwell Heath itself. The garden is nice too but because the pub is on a busy junction it is always noisy. Sir Tim Martin actually visited The Eva Hart on a day we were there

This place never fails to be a good place to socialising, drinking, eating, having a good chat, even chilling out. Location is great. Its food is fantastic and drinks are amazingly priced as most spoons are anyway especially alcohol. Friday nights get really busy. I highly recommend this place to anyone for a bar or a sit in restaurant.
