About This Pub

Ah, The Bridge House – it's one of those pubs that really captures that authentic, no-nonsense British vibe, tucked away in Ilford. I have to say, what stands out most is how it feels like a proper old-school spot where you can relax with a decent pint and maybe have a laugh with the bar staff, who seem genuinely approachable. The drinks are reasonably priced, and little extras like the jukebox and pool table make it a great place for a casual get-together or to unwind after a long day. But, on the flip side, it's not all smooth sailing; I've heard from a few folks that some of the more established crowd can be a bit off-putting or even rude, and there are stories of people being asked to leave if they're not recognised faces, which does take the shine off. Overall, if you're up for a bit of that traditional pub charm and don't mind the occasional hiccup, it's worth popping in – just go in with an open mind and see if it clicks for you.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • It's got that classic old-school pub feel, making you feel right at home with its welcoming vibe.
  • The bar staff are generally friendly and make for a pleasant chat while you're having a pint.
  • Drinks are pretty affordable, which is always a win for a casual night out.
  • There are nice touches like a jukebox and a pool table, adding to the fun and entertainment.
Cons
  • Some of the regulars can come across as a bit rude or unwelcoming, which puts a damper on things.
  • There have been instances where newcomers were turned away, making it feel a tad exclusive.
  • The crowd isn't always the friendliest, with a few reports of confrontations that might spoil your visit.

Went to Goodmayes to this pub I’ve used many times. Pleased to see it open. Bloke with a beard confronted us as we entered and said ‘members and regulars only’ I told him I’d been to the pub many times before with my partner. He said it don’t know you so you must leave. Won’t be going again

Most hospitable, good beer, friendly customers, all make to a very enjoyable afternoon of drinking with various football supporters normally only ever seen with rugby supporters.

Just moved to the area....First time in, pretty cheap drinks, everyone was friendly, good jukebox, pool table and most importantly really walkable from where I'm now living. I lucked out with this one.
