About This Pub
Ah, the Hare on the Hill – what a lovely find in Littleborough! From what I've gathered, it's this tucked-away spot that's been drawing folks in since 2018 for its fantastic mix of craft ales, mouth-watering pizzas, and small plates that use local ingredients to keep things fresh and authentic. The atmosphere is just spot on, with a cosy feel inside and those clever outdoor cabins that make it ideal for a chat over a pint, rain or shine. It's dog-friendly too, which adds to the community spirit and makes it feel like a proper local hangout. The staff really shine through in the reviews, always on hand with helpful advice and a warm welcome that keeps people coming back. On the flip side, it's a small place, so it fills up quickly – one chap had a bit of a nightmare with a booking that didn't go as planned, which is a shame, and they've noted that allergens are around in the kitchen, so if you've got any sensitivities, it's best to chat about it when you book. Overall, though, with a solid 4.6 rating from heaps of happy visitors, it's well worth a visit for a relaxed evening out, just remember to plan ahead and you'll likely have a cracking time.

Outdoor cabins and areas are a brilliant touch, especially for braving the British weather, and it's dog-friendly too, which is ace for us pet lovers.
Cons
-
It can get pretty packed, so you'll need to book ahead to snag a table and avoid disappointment.
-
There was that one off experience with a booking mix-up, which left someone feeling let down, so it's worth double-checking details when reserving.
-
With allergens in the kitchen, it's important to mention any dietary needs upfront, as they might not be able to accommodate everything perfectly in such a small space.

It's a 6 star pub. Great beers, cask for me, but plenty of keg for those that want it. Superb outside drinking areas, with huts for Lancashire weather.
Dog friendly, excellent atmosphere, great drink choices and tasty food. If you want to sit down, book ahead as it fills up quickly.
My partner & I booked a table for Sunday lunch, person answering the phone asked "inside or outside", we replied we would like to eat where we can see and hear the band.. "that will be inside then", we agreed and booked leaving my partner's name.
On arrival today, we were told that our table was 'outside'.. we explained to the barmaid what had been agreed when booking.. specifying over the phone that we were also wanting to watch the band, "The Shenanigans".
Barmaids response; 'no tables, we have had to move a couple so the band would have enough room'.
We re-explained what was said / discussed, and had been acknowledged, when on the phone booking.. the barmaid insisted we could only have a table 'outside'.
We asked to speak to the manager.. "not here".. we were told.
Disappointed and annoyed at the lack of empathy and unwillingness to even try to address the situation ..we walked.
We will NOT return.
Well worth the short walk from the town centre to this fine micro bar which is also an Untappd Verified Venue. They’ve nailed it with modern, classic cask ales - Vocation Bread & Butter, Cloudwater Happy to name just two. The beer garden with its chalets look amazing.
The photos in the digital Good Beer Guide certainly do not do this bar justice.
