About This Pub
Ah, Hammer & Stithy – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper community hub, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, folks absolutely love the friendly banter from the staff and the overall welcoming atmosphere; it's spot on for a casual catch-up or even belting out a tune at karaoke. The beer is reasonably priced and served up cold and quick, which is always a winner, and they've got these thoughtful little extras, like sorting out water for dogs, that really make you smile. On the flip side, it can turn into a bit of a crowd on Friday evenings, so if you're not in the mood for a bustling spot, you might want to pick another night. Plus, with no recent feedback and a bit of confusion around the opening times, it's worth double-checking before you go. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good night out, but like any place, it's not perfect – still, I'd say give it a try if you're in the area; you might just end up making it your regular haunt.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's got a fantastic atmosphere, perfect for a good laugh, especially with events like karaoke on Friday nights that really get the energy going.
-
Beer prices are a real bargain compared to other spots around, so you can enjoy a pint without breaking the bank.
-
Little touches like providing a bowl of water for dogs show how thoughtful they are, which is just lovely if you're popping in with a furry friend.
-
Service is quick and efficient, with cold beer always on tap, ensuring you don't wait around too long for your round.
Cons
-
It can get pretty packed on busy nights, like Fridays, which might make it a bit of a squeeze if you're after a quiet drink.
-
There haven't been any recent reviews, so it's hard to say if things have stayed the same or changed since the last ones from a couple of years back.
-
The operating hours seem a tad confusing with multiple listings, and it typically closes quite early in the evening, which could cut short your night out.
-
No website or online presence means it's not straightforward to check menus or events before heading over, which is a bit of a shame in this digital age.

Awesome local pub, even whilst visiting from Australia
Friendly pub, great atmosphere. Gets very busy on a Friday night for the Karaoke. Fantastic DJ
Called for a drink when walking our little dog and sat outside, very nice atmosphere and was surprised when one of the staff came out with a bowl of water for the dog which I found really thoughtful. Will definitely be visiting again.
Great pub....first time I have visited it. Beer cheaper then other inns in the area. Barmaid and clients really friendly.
Nice people, very welcoming and the manager has people laughing all the way to the bar. Service was quick staff were friendly and the beer was cold and wet just the way it should be. Old Community style of atmosphere but still warm friendly place.
