About This Pub

Ah, Gipsy Hill Taproom – what a gem tucked away in Norwood! I've got to say, if you're a fan of craft beer, this place really hits the mark with its fresh pints straight from the brewery, boasting everything from fruity IPAs to stouts and even some low-alcohol choices to suit all tastes. The vibe is just right – think cosy indoor spots and outdoor areas for when the weather's on your side, plus they host all sorts of events that make it feel like a proper community hub. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a natter and making you feel right at home, as a few folks have mentioned in their chats about the place. On the flip side, it's not open every day, so you might have to plan around that, and if craft beer isn't your main draw, it could come across as a bit one-note compared to a full-blown pub. All in all, it's a solid choice for a great night out, especially if you're keen on supporting local breweries and enjoying that authentic South London charm.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beers are absolutely spot on – fresh, flavourful, and with a brilliant range of their own brews plus some cracking guest options, making it a real treat for anyone who loves a good craft pint.
  • The atmosphere is just lovely; it's got that warm, community vibe with events like sports screenings, run clubs, and even collaborations with local food vendors, so there's always something going on to make your visit memorable.
  • Service is top-notch – the team are friendly and welcoming, always ready with a smile and a chat, which really adds to the enjoyment of popping in for a drink.
Cons
  • Opening hours can be a bit limited, mostly evenings and weekends, so it might not be ideal if you're looking for a spot to nip into on a whim during the week.
  • It's quite focused on craft beer, which is brilliant if that's your thing, but if you're after a more traditional pub experience with a wider selection of drinks or hearty meals on site, it could feel a tad niche.

Great little Brewery... Buried in the heart of South London is a gem that should be visited. Session IPA and Lager boasting deep fruity notes with hints of melon, these beverages served ice cold are something to behold👌🏽 Massive thanks to Simon, the main man who is immortalised on the side of IPA cans... A true likeness of a generous gentleman with a bit of wild animal thrown in 😉👌🏽⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great for craft beer lovers. Good range of the breweries own beers supplemented by a few guest ales. We didn't but if you want to eat they have an arrangement with a local pizza delivery service

Great local brewery with plenty of space inside and outside. Their own beers are great and their collaborations are always creative and for all tastes, from “simple” to very complex and experimental. Service is great and they have snack, yard sale pizza partnership and some board games (even their own merch). They run some small markets during some weekends too

We won a Tour of the Brewery for six and it was brilliant. Robert the Manager took us round the brewery and answered our MANY questions with ease and a smile. We then have a chance to taste six of their beers inc fruit, stout, PAs, fruit beers and non alcohol. Having known how they were all made AND that they make a 100% carbon neutral beer without credits. Will definately be backnwas such a friendly atmosphere.

We were in Dulwich to go to the art gallery and took the opportunity to try this brewery and taproom. So glad we did! Fabulous Hepcat IPA brewed with our favourite New Zealand hops. So tasty and fresh that we had to stay for another pint! Plenty of other beers on the menu too. The taproom is a typical basic craft brewery tap but nothing wrong with that. Pizzas can be ordered from a local takeaway but we walked 5 minutes up the road to the fabulous Rikshaw Indian restaurant to complete a perfect evening
