About This Pub

Ah, Farmshop Bicester – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper treat after a day of shopping in the village. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is spot on, with fresh, seasonal dishes that bring out the best of British countryside cooking; folks rave about the chicken curry, burgers, and even the vegan options, all made with care and served piping hot. The staff are dead helpful and get things moving quickly, which is a godsend when you're starving, and the whole setup with its wooden beams, open barn doors, and outdoor terraces makes for a really cosy atmosphere that'll have you feeling right at home. On the flip side, that automatic 13% service charge might raise an eyebrow – it's a bit of a surprise if you're used to choosing your own tip – and a couple of mentions about a fishy smell could be off-putting on a bad day. Still, with such high praise overall and a solid 4.3 rating from heaps of happy visitors, it's well worth a visit for a hearty meal, just maybe pop in knowing what to expect and plan around the busier times.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious and freshly made, with hearty British classics that really hit the spot – think tasty burgers, curries, and fresh breakfasts that keep things seasonal and exciting.
  • Service is quick and friendly, even when the place is buzzing, making it a breeze to grab a table and get your meal without much fuss.
  • The rustic ambience is just lovely, with natural wood, exposed beams, and outdoor terraces that give it a warm, inviting farmhouse feel, perfect for a relaxed meal.
  • It's family-friendly with options for kids and private dining spaces, plus they cater to different tastes including vegan choices.
Cons
  • They automatically add a 13% service charge to the bill, which might feel a bit cheeky if you'd rather decide how much to tip yourself.
  • There have been mentions of a fishy smell in the restaurant, which could put a damper on things if you're sensitive to that.
  • It's walk-in only for lunch and weekends, so you might face a wait if it's busy, rather than booking ahead for peace of mind.

Beautiful place to eat. Service was quick, ambience was lovely and inviting. We went for the chicken curry (£22), which was great. Lunch for two with drinks, main and dessert came in at £96. They did add their own 13% table service charge which I'd prefer to decide what I wanted to pay but didn't argue with it.

Wow! The food blew my mind off. It was delicious and freshly made. Everything we ordered for the table was amazingly delicious. I loved everything about this place and would love to come back. They were super busy but managed to give us a table at a lovely family spot and food came pretty quick. Their menu has good brunch options as well as lunch/dinner.

The food and drinks were delicious, and perfectly cooked. The staffs were nice, the service was excellent. I like the room design (wooden walls & roof). The toilets were on the first floor, it was clean, and some parts of the toilet were made of wood. Nice design...

Dined here last week. Ordered the Chicken Burger with fries, Avocado Toast for my gran and Vegan burger for my mom. Everyone enjoyed their food. I didn’t try the rest but the Chicken Burger was honestly one of the tastiest burgers I’ve ever ate. However the restaurant had a fishy smell which was off putting. We ignored that as we were very hungry. However the food did make up for it

Went to the farmhouse for lunch with the family when shopping in Bicester village. This was actually a really nice spot! The staff were very friendly and the service was extremely quick! The food came out piping hot and I'd highly recommend the fish and chips! Soft and flaky on the outside with crispy batter - the chips had good crunch too. Overall I'd come back here if I was in the Bicester village area!
