About This Pub

Ah, Monty's Burger Bar, what a gem in Bicester! From what I've gathered chatting about places like this, it's got that perfect mix of hearty, flavoursome food and a cosy atmosphere that makes you want to linger. The burgers and breakfasts come highly recommended, with fresh local ingredients and sustainable practices that really shine through, and the staff are just lovely – always polite and attentive, which makes the whole experience feel personal and enjoyable. It's family-friendly too, with playlists of great music adding to the fun without overwhelming things. On the flip side, while most rave about the grub, a few have said the burgers are solid but not mind-blowing, so if you're a burger purist, you might find other menu items like the ribs or pancakes steal the show instead. All in all, it's a solid choice for a bite with mates or a casual meal; you'd be hard-pressed not to leave with a smile, even if it's not flawless for every taste.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think juicy burgers, hearty breakfasts, and tasty sides that leave you feeling chuffed, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients making every bite feel special.
  • The staff are an absolute delight; they're warm, welcoming, and quick to serve with big smiles, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • It's got a brilliant atmosphere with great music playlists that add to the fun vibe, perfect for a relaxed meal or a family outing.
  • They've got a varied menu with huge portions, including options for different tastes and even gluten-free choices, plus a nod to sustainability that feels genuinely thoughtful.
  • With a stellar 4.8 rating from loads of folks, it's clear this place knows how to deliver a memorable experience, especially for breakfast or a casual bite.
Cons
  • Some might find the burgers tasty but not particularly standout, as one person mentioned they were good yet nothing extraordinary compared to other dishes on offer.
  • While the overall vibe is top-notch, it could feel a bit hit-or-miss if you're after something truly innovative with the burgers, based on a couple of comments.

Visited Monty's with two little ones (6yrs & 3yrs) celebrating Father's Day. Staff from greeting us at the door to serving our food and seeing us off - were beyond amazing. Polite, warm welcoming and quick to serve with a big smiles on their faces and attentive to details. The food servings were spot on, utterly mouthwatering burgers and milkshakes to fill your happy inner child. 10/10 all round. Facilities were clean, well maintained and edgy in design. Functional and fun. Most certainly would visit again and highly recommend others to, too.

I can’t believe I just ate the best burger of my life. The flavours were WICKED good - couldn’t fault the chips and onion rings either. Loved the selection of bread, the selection of add ons and sides. Holy guacamole. Phenomenal place! All ingredients are sourced locally and even had Hawkstone beer on tap. Lovely staff, they fitted us in and were so attentive.

We just moved to Bicester yesterday and decided to try this place for our first breakfast. The sunny weather made it perfect to sit outside, and the atmosphere was lovely with chilled music playing in the background. The staff were incredibly friendly – some of the nicest we’ve encountered at a café! The food and coffee were delicious, and they offer vegan options with alternative milk for coffee and a breakfast bap. The hash browns were some of the best we've had! We'll definitely be back regularly!

Monty's is lovely! It is so much more than just burgers. The portions are huge, the menu is varied and delicious. The ribs are a MUST try.

We went here for a meal recently and had a nice time. The staff who served us was super friendly and very welcoming. We ate burgers, cheese macaroni, bbq ribs and desserts. We didn't find the burgers anything special, however tasty and filling. Our favourite pick was the chocolatey/hazelnut pancakes. Those were exceptionally tasty. The interior atmosphere is quite cozy and spotlessly clean. Thank you 🙏
