About This Pub

Ah, the Earls Court Tavern – it's one of those classic London spots that feels like a proper local haunt, especially if you're after a pint and some live footy action. I have to say, the atmosphere is spot on; it's lively without being overwhelming, and they've got all the trimmings for a good time, like showing major events on the telly and being super accommodating for families or even your furry four-legged friends. The beer selection is a real winner too – I reckon you'd enjoy trying out their IPAs or traditional ales while chatting with mates. On the flip side, though, the food's where things get a tad tricky; it's got potential with a varied menu, but from what I've gathered from a few chats, it doesn't always live up to expectations – think dry burgers or starters that might leave you wishing you'd just stuck to the drinks. Still, the staff can be absolute gems when they're on form, offering helpful advice and keeping things cheerful. Overall, it's worth a visit if you're in the area, especially for the vibe and location, but maybe keep your expectations in check for the grub and hope for one of their better days.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff can be incredibly friendly and helpful, making you feel right at home with their warm service and recommendations.
  • They've got a cracking selection of British ales and beers, perfect for settling in with mates after a day out.
  • It's a great spot for catching live sports like Premier League football or the Women's Euros on the big screen, with a lively atmosphere that gets everyone buzzing.
  • The pub is conveniently located near iconic spots like the V&A and Natural History Museum, and it's family-friendly with facilities for everyone, including dogs.
  • Plenty of amenities like WiFi and takeaway options make it easy to pop in for a quick bite or a relaxed evening.
Cons
  • Food quality seems a bit inconsistent – some dishes like chips or certain burgers might hit the spot, but others can be disappointing or even underwhelming.
  • There have been a few reports of rude or rushed service from staff, which can put a damper on what should be a relaxed pub visit.
  • The menu might look tempting with lots of options, but it's let down at times by things not being quite up to scratch, like dry burgers or starters that don't quite deliver.

The staff were SO RUDE. I am with a group from the U.S. and we wanted a dinner close to our hotel and we were met with hostility. It was two women working one older and one young but didnt speak english. The older one was so incredibly rude, rushing me when i gave my order which wasnt taken at the table, rolling her eyes when i ordered me and my friends drinks, and just so hostile. My friend and i ordered the exact same food but mine came with two (2) onion rings while hers came with a whole cup. I asked why it was like that and the younger one piped up saying thats just how it was but i didnt hear her so i asked her to repeat herself and the older one starts talking to me like im stupid and is raising ger voice telling me that my friend ordered extra... she did not! We ordered the exact same thing said yes and no at the same questions but still were different. I gave up because she was SO RUDE and rolling her eyes and sighing and almost yelling and waving her hands. We ate and the food was mediocre at best, then my friend found a hair in her food! A short black curly hair.... none of us have black hair. We told the older lady about it and she rolled her eyes AGAIN and took the food to look at it but kept asking where the hair was with such disdain in her voice like she loathed us. She then went to her manager who was so incredibly sweet and kind and refunded my friend but the older woman should not work in hospitality. If anyone knows the Karens Diner trend going around, this restaurant is doing it without any warning lol. Dont eat here, spend your money elsewhere.

The food was really not great . Tried to keep expectations in check as it was just a casual pub, but the starters were simply not edible. Service was fun and good. Energy in the pub was great. Just wish I didn't order food at all and just had drinks.

We went there at night looking for a place to eat. There are many tables so that was great. You need to order first and then find a seat and your order will be served. We ordered the fish and chips ans scampi and coke. We didn't have to wait too long. Only the chips were good . The coke we were served was almost tasteless. One of the coke served was almost colourless so we asked to get a new one ... and it was still tasteless. The fish was big but just tasted of fried batter, just like the scampi. It was not a full scampi per bite but it seemed like a small piece with a thick batter. The tartar sauce was also too much, after a few bites it felt too sickening. I felt it was too thick and rich. I would not coming back for the food. Each menu cost around 15~ 19 GBP and I felt this cost too much for what it's worth. Maybe their alcoholic beverages are better, but I cannot say.

As a chef I love to try all cuisines the first time i came to your establishment the food was excellent 2 beef burgers the second time the beef burger was dry and the pie was amazing off night maybe i don't know what happened tonight but the food wasn't good steak sandwich i asked for medium rare the steak was like eating beef jerky tough as and the sandwich bread was not toasted and the steak was 5 small cubes with lettuce no cheese no tomato no egg no bacon crispy onions flavourless check your salad the dressing it isn't nice and the cheese toastie if your not going to put salt and pepper on the tables please season the food i would have said something but the waitress was busy at the bar and when she came she grabbed our plates and rushed of i said something but she didn't hear me I put a 3 star because not everything is bad and the atmosphere was amazing your pub is amazing but if you don't do the small things right you won't reach your full potential all the best

Super friendly and helpful staff, rich menu full of options from chicken and beef burgers — even vegan burgers — sandwiches, steak, and lots of small plates to choose from. The “small plate” appetizers are quite generous and perfect for sharing. Their beer selection is quite lovely, the IPA I tried was only around 4% alc. and tasted quite refreshing. A lovely classic sports pub with the perfect atmosphere for solo dinners and friend gatherings alike. Will definitely be coming back for the good vibes and to try their fried chicken burger.
