About This Pub

Ah, Ale&Pie in Earl's Court – it's one of those spots that just feels like a proper London hideaway, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the vibe is spot on: all traditional decor and that warm, welcoming pub feel that makes you want to settle in for the evening. The beers are a real highlight; being a Fuller's pub, they've got a great selection that hits the spot, especially if you're after something classic like London Pride. And the food? Well, plenty of people rave about it – imagine tucking into a perfectly cooked Sunday roast or a hearty pie that's full of flavour. It's those little touches that make it stand out for a relaxed meal on a rainy day. But, let's be honest, it's not all pints and praise. A few have mentioned that the prices can sting a bit, particularly for smaller portions like bar snacks, which might leave you wondering if it's worth the quid. Service-wise, it seems generally friendly, but there have been times when staff appeared a bit preoccupied, which could make the experience feel less personal. Space is another thing – it's not the biggest spot, so if you're after somewhere spacious, you might find it a squeeze, especially with limited outdoor options. Overall, though, I'd say it's a gem for anyone wanting an authentic pub crawl in London, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and maybe skip the snacks if you're watching the wallet.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The pub has a wonderfully traditional and cosy atmosphere that really captures the charm of old-school London boozers.
  • They serve up some cracking beers, especially the Fuller's selection, which is perfect for anyone wanting a proper pint.
  • The food gets high marks from many – think excellent Sunday roasts and hearty pies that leave you feeling satisfied.
  • It's open seven days a week with decent hours, making it easy to pop in for a quick drink or a relaxed meal.
Cons
  • Some folks have found the food a bit on the pricey side, like those bar snacks that don't quite match up to the cost.
  • Service can be hit or miss; one person mentioned their server seemed a tad distracted, which might put a dampener on things.
  • The space inside isn't massive, and outdoor seating is limited, so it could get a bit snug during busier times.

I didn’t try any of the food so I can’t comment on that. The inside of the pub is very traditional and isn’t that big. There’s some limited seating outside This is a Fuller’s pub and as such they carry several Fuller’s 🍻. My server seemed to be preoccupied with her own thoughts but I got my pints in a timely fashion.

The service was good, but the food is very overpriced. I understand that 'bar snacks' are small, but 9.50 for a chicken goujoun portion - with only 3 pieces - it's a joke 🥴

I fell in love with British beer. I love London Pride and fish and chips on a rainy day. It was a real awakening for me, who usually doesn't enjoy drinking and especially doesn't know the taste of beer. I never imagined that London's pubs would be this charming. I praise and admire Europe so much, but England is also a charming place. This trip was so satisfying from the start!!! The hotel was great, but I strongly recommend you visit the pub as well.

A warm welcome to London’s Earl’s Court After our check-in at a nearby hotel, we were famished for a good meal and we found just that at The Blackbird’s Ale&Pie in Earl's Court. Friendly service in a warm and cozy pub atmosphere. I ordered the special Ox Cheek and Stilton meat pie with triple-cooked chips, leeks and a red wine gravy. I devoured the meat pie, the chips were perfection and the London Pride cask ale was icing on the cake. Come for meat pies, stick around for the cask ales in a cozy nook of Earl's Court, and then you can literally stay in one of the rooms above the pub.
