About This Pub

Ah, the Dog and Partridge – it's one of those pubs that just makes you smile from the moment you walk in. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is spot on; folks rave about the tasty mix of classics and modern twists, with everything well-cooked and presented, whether you're tucking into BBQ ribs or even giving their salads a go. The team there really knows how to make you feel at home, with service that's attentive and full of that genuine warmth you don't always find these days. It's a family-oriented place, great for everything from a quick bite midweek to celebrating a birthday, and that beer garden is an absolute treat, especially if you've got a furry friend in tow – it's heated and open all year, so you can enjoy it no matter the weather. On the flip side, it's worth noting that they're closed Mondays and Tuesdays, which might cramp your style if you're after a regular haunt during the week. Plus, with bookings capped at 1.5 to 2 hours, it could feel a bit hurried if you're in the mood for a long chat over drinks. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for anyone in Chorley looking for good grub and a relaxed atmosphere – I'd say give it a try and see for yourself; you might just make it your new favourite spot.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely superb, with a great mix of traditional and modern dishes that leave you wanting more – don't skip the desserts!
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
  • It's a proper family-run spot with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a quiet drink, family meals, or celebrations.
  • The beer garden is a highlight, dog-friendly and heated for year-round enjoyment, ideal for sunnier days or cosy evenings.
Cons
  • It's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which can be a bit of a shame if you're looking for a mid-week pint.
  • Bookings are limited to 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your group, so it might feel a tad rushed if you fancy lingering over another round.
  • They've mentioned working with a smaller team, which could mean slower responses to emails or bookings, so plan ahead if you're keen.

We went for a family meal last night for my birthday and I have to say we were all so Impressed. We only live 5 mins away but have never been, this is now our favourite place to eat. The food is superb and Carly was absolutely fantastic, my grandaughters lived her !!

Went for lunch with good friends and was pleasantly surprised with the excellent service and food quality, well cooked and presented. Will be returning in late July for my 80th birthday meal. Beer was good too Highly recommend this pub, 5 star!

Really good pub meal. I'm not one for the green stuff when dining out, but even I can be tempted by their salads. I may even order one next time as I have it on good authority they are really tasty. They certainly look appetising enough. On this occasion, I opted for the BBQ spare ribs and cheesy fries with added spring onions. The onions made a tasty little tweak to the cheesy chips I have had elsewhere. I was impressed. Really tasty. We visited mid week lunchtime and the pub was really busy. The car park was full so we had to park on the street but this wasn't a problem. Look forward to eating here again
