About This Pub

Ah, what a lovely spot Dial Arch is, tucked away in the heart of Woolwich – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem. The food really steals the show; you've got these nostalgic classics and phenomenal pizzas that hit the spot every time, all made with fresh British ingredients that make you want to come back for more. And the team behind the bar and in the kitchen? They're an absolute delight, always chatting away and ensuring everything runs smoothly, whether it's recommending a cocktail or sorting out a table. It's brilliant for all sorts of outings too – dog-friendly means you can bring the pup along, and that outdoor terrace is just perfect for a sunny afternoon pint or a chilled evening under the stars. On the downside, things can get a bit lively and crowded, especially when there's a big game on, so it pays to plan ahead if you fancy a quiet corner. Prices are fair but might feel a tad steep for a full night out, and if you're not in the area, it's a bit of a journey from central London. All in all, it's a cracking choice for a catch-up with friends or a special occasion, with that warm, homely feel that makes you forget the little niggles – I'd say give it a go if you're after a balanced pub experience that's got plenty of heart.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think hearty Sunday roasts and delicious pizzas made with top-notch British ingredients
  • Staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always going the extra mile to make you feel welcome
  • It's wonderfully dog-friendly, so you can pop in with your four-legged mate without a worry
  • The outdoor terrace is a real treat, perfect for soaking up the sun with a craft beer or cosying up in winter
  • A buzzing atmosphere for all sorts of occasions, from casual meet-ups to watching live sports on the screens
Cons
  • Prices are on the moderate side, which might add up if you're planning a full meal and drinks
  • It can get pretty busy, especially during events or match days, so you might face a wait for a table
  • Tucked away in South-East London, it's not the most central spot, which could be a trek if you're not local

We hosted our wedding reception at the Dial Arch and we couldn’t be happier to have chosen such an amazing venue. The atmosphere and ambiance of the place is rustic and great, food was superb and service amazing. Big thanks to Katherine for the coordination, Ollie and Lewis for the tables set up, Faye for making sure everyone had a drink and the amazing Claudia, our hostess, who was restless all day and even after party! Thank you guys for helping making our day smooth and full of joy!

We had an excellent Sunday roast here today. Highly recommended. It’s dog friendly and cozy. Claudia served us and she was super lovely. I’ll come back because of her service for sure. Overall a great experience.

The service was great - Claudia was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel very comfortable. Not only was she super helpful with the menu, but she also recommended the most delicious cocktail, strawberries and creaaam. The sides and drinks were so so good; You can tell there’s real passion behind everything. great place to chill :)

My beautiful daughter took me for lunch there today and the service, food and ambience were impeccable. We were served by Ollie and Claudia who were exceptionally attentive and kept on checking on us, Ollie brought us extra potatoes and gravy when my daughter wanted some more. The food was delicious and the portion sizes…wow, I have to admit to laughing hysterically in disbelief when I realised that those large portions were headed to our table. If you love big portions at a great cost then this is your place. I had the pork belly which was succulent, my daughter had the chicken and it was a half chicken - massive, (she had to ask for a doggy bag as she could only manage a quarter of it.) Beautiful potatoes and vegetables accompanied the roast. The dessert was delicious, I had sticky toffee pudding which was again another big portion. We were also given some Mother’s Day chocolates to take away. I have always been a massive fan of Dial Arch and today’s service took this to another level. Thank you Ollie and Claudia as it would not have been as wonderful if it wasn’t for your fantastic service. Thank you to the Chef too, beautiful food. You truly outdid yourselves. ❤️

We were told both the atmosphere and the food were delicious. We were told right. Friendly staff, delicious food, it’s just a beautiful restaurant. I’m only in town for five days and have wondered over to have both spirits and lunch three times already. A+++
