About This Pub

Ah, Croft NQ Bar and Kitchen – it's one of those places that just feels like a breath of fresh air in the city centre. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food is where it really shines; folks are raving about the hearty dishes like the BBQ pulled pork and fish and chips, which come out quickly and taste spot on. Pair that with the super approachable staff who make you feel right at home, and you've got a recipe for a great night out. The prices are sensible too, so you won't break the bank, and the atmosphere is just the ticket for a relaxed catch-up – think eclectic decor with chandeliers that add a bit of charm without being over the top. It's smack in the middle of things, making it a handy stop after a wander around Manchester. On the flip side, though, it's not all perfect; there have been a couple of mentions about service not quite hitting the mark every time, like a refusal for something as simple as topping up a pot of tea, which left one visitor a bit miffed and less keen to go back. Still, with so many positive vibes overall, I'd say it's worth giving it a go – just keep in mind it might have its off moments, but that's pub life for you, eh?

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food here is spot on – think delicious options like BBQ pulled pork sandwiches and Philly cheesesteaks that really hit the mark, with generous portions that leave you satisfied.
  • The staff are an absolute delight, always friendly and on point, making sure you're looked after from the moment you walk in.
  • Prices are fair and reasonable, giving you great value for what you get, especially for a spot in the heart of Manchester.
  • The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed, with an eclectic feel and charming touches like chandeliers that make it a proper cosy spot for a catch-up.
  • Its central location makes it dead easy to pop in after exploring the city, and it's not too loud, perfect for a chilled-out meal or drink.
Cons
  • There can be the odd service blip, like when someone was turned down for a simple request such as more hot water for tea, which put a dampener on things.
  • Consistency might vary a tad, as one regular mentioned a disappointing experience that made them think twice about returning, even after loving it before.

Came here for the BBQ pulled pork sandwich and it did not disappoint! We got sat right away, servers were so nice, the food was served not even ten minutes later! Great prices, lovely atmosphere, incredible staff!

Affordable for the amount of food you get, lovely staff and atmosphere, not too loud so it’s more of a relaxing dining experience which was great. Definitely a nice reliable restaurant.

Visited yesterday around 2pm. Lovely bar with an eclectic feel. Love the chandeliers. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak on ciabatta, amazing, and my husband had fish & chips, the fish was massive. The service is superb as soon as you walk through the door, nothing is too much trouble, thank you

Restaurant location is very central, making it easy to access by foot for anyone staying around the city center. We were told to visit this restaurant by our hotel reception staff as it offers genuine food and drinks. Fish was of good quality and so was the pie, which was served along a jar of mouthwatering gravy. Overall satisfied with our experience and turns out they offer a 50% discount on food every Monday and Tuesday which made our bill much cheaper than expected! Worth visiting! Thank you Croft NQ

After visiting this place 6 times I originally left a 5 star review. However after today's experience I will not be returning. We ordered 5 main meals and 4 drinks from the menu. Half way through my meal I asked for some more hot water in my pot of tea. This request was refused as they "don't do refills" which I find incredibly frugal. Considering we are spending £90 asking for some hot water is not asking for much! I have asked for several years in different cafes and restaurants for pot of tea refills and have NEVER been refused until this place. They clearly don't have customer service as their top priority. Also the older guy working there is miserable and rude. So I won't be coming back. I will say though the two ladies working there are super lovely. The food is nice and arrives quickly. The place is really clean and they have a good menu. But because they are so cheap they won't even give you water I won't be going back or recommending this place. Original review Love this place. It has half price food all day Monday and Tuesday. Nice staff, lots of seats, games available to play. Never had an issue with the food or drinks here. Would recommend
