About This Pub

Ah, Chapel House in Low Moor, Bradford – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's got this fantastic historic vibe dating back to the 16th century, complete with a sunny beer garden for warmer days and crackling open fires when the weather turns chilly. The food's a real highlight for most; people are raving about the pies and roasts, and it all comes at prices that feel fair without skimping on portions. Plus, the staff are absolute stars – super attentive and welcoming, which makes popping in for a drink or to catch the latest sports action, like the Women's Euros, an absolute treat. It's dog-friendly too, so you can bring the furry family along. But let's be honest, it's not flawless; a few folks have mentioned the odd mishap with things like overcooked steaks that didn't quite live up to expectations, especially for the cost. Still, with an overall rating pushing 4.4 from heaps of reviews, it's clear the good far outweighs the bad. If you're in the area, I'd say give it a go – it's perfect for a laid-back evening with mates, and you'll likely leave with a smile, even if it's not the fanciest spot out there.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The historic charm of this 16th-century pub is just lovely, with a welcoming beer garden and cosy open fires that make it feel like a proper traditional spot.
  • The food is generally spot on – think delicious pies, roasts, and even chicken strips that folks rave about, all at reasonable prices that won't break the bank.
  • Service is top-notch; the staff are attentive and make you feel right at home, which is something you don't always get these days.
  • It's got great facilities like being dog-friendly, plenty of parking, and a buzzing atmosphere for watching live sports, making it ideal for a casual get-together.
  • Hygiene is excellent, and the overall vibe is vibrant and inviting, perfect for family outings or meeting up with mates.
Cons
  • Food can sometimes fall short, like with overcooked steaks that might be a bit fatty, leaving you wishing for a tad more quality for the price.
  • While most meals are great, there are occasional letdowns that could put a dampener on things if you're expecting perfection every time.
  • It might not stand out as extraordinary in a crowded pub scene, especially if you're after something a bit more upscale or innovative.

Beautiful pub to sit outside. Food was ok. But for the price, I would have expected a little more. My steak was over cooked and quite fatty. But the beautiful beer garden made up for it.

This is a brilliant pub and well worth trying if you're local to the area. I'd say the most outstanding part is the service, very attentive, something which is lacking in pubs of a similar standard on the food front. The food was really good, and I especially enjoyed the chicken strips, as did my wife. We shared both starters and the sauce from the belly pork bites dish went down a treat for both dishes. This pub had the best of both worlds when it comes to atmosphere, as we entered, we were met by loads of people surrounding the bar having a great time. We then walked through the pub to the dining area, where it was more chilled out and relaxing, despite the hoards of people at the other end of the pub. I will definitely be visiting here again to try out some of their other food options!

A wonderful time as always at the Chapel House, all 8 of our party had delicious food at such a reasonable price. The staff were polite and the food came fast, highly recommended! The pies are amazing, the roasts are amazing, everything I eat here is generally really good. The restaurant is the right size, not too big or small, and the volume wasn't too loud. We will be coming back.

Always guaranteed good food. Chapel house is in the green king chain and all have a high standard of food and service. We attended in a party of 8 for a birthday party. We were shown to our table on arrival and the drinks order was taken soon after. All the food on the menus were available which is always a good thing. The food preparation time was perfect and the service was first class. Without doubt we will be back again and again.
