About This Pub

Ah, Bure Farm in Bicester – it's one of those places that really pulls you in with its cosy, stylish vibe, whether you're tucking into a hearty Sunday roast or enjoying a pint in the beer garden on a warm afternoon. I love how it's so welcoming for families and even your furry friends, with that child-friendly setup and dog-friendly areas making it feel like a proper community hub. The offers, like 30% off mains, are a nice touch that keeps things affordable, and when the food hits the mark, it's genuinely delicious and satisfying. On the flip side, though, I've heard from a few mates that the portions can be a bit skimpy for what you're paying, and some dishes just don't pack the punch you'd hope for – think bland steak or fish that leaves you wanting more. Service can be hit or miss too; the waiting staff are usually brilliant, but the bar team might not always be as cheerful, which can throw off the whole experience. All in all, it's worth a visit if you're in the area, especially for a casual catch-up, but maybe keep expectations in check and go for the classics to get the best out of it.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The Sunday roasts are an absolute treat – full of flavour and perfect for a cosy family get-together.
  • It's wonderfully dog-friendly, making it a great spot if you're popping in after a walk.
  • The beer garden is a real gem on sunny days, with a covered terrace that's ideal for al fresco dining.
  • The waiting staff are often friendly and welcoming, adding to that homely atmosphere.
  • They've got some cracking offers like 30% off mains, which makes it easier on the wallet.
Cons
  • Some dishes can be a bit underwhelming, with small portions that don't quite hit the spot for the price.
  • The bar staff aren't always in the best mood, which can make ordering feel a tad awkward.
  • Certain meals lack that deep flavour, like the fish and steak that some folks found bland.
  • It can get inconsistent with service, as not every visit lives up to the hype.

Food was mediocre for price paid. Portion size leave you unsatisfied and lacks any deep flavour. Fish was size of your hand, with handful of chips is ridiculous 😑 for £18. Steak was bland, get half pot of peppercorn sauce. We didn't bother for pudding. Waiting staff were great, friendly and efficient. Shame the food is acceptable at best, but at them prices, 1st and last visit.

Had a wonderful Sunday roast on Father’s Day! The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was lovely and cosy. Every table was booked up with happy families enjoying good food. The staff are very friendly and welcoming :)

Absolutely dreadful! We have been a few times recently as friends want to meet there. Every time the bar staff have been utterly miserable and obnoxious. Couldn’t have been less interested, so much so one woman completely got our 2 pint and a white wine spritzer order wrong as she was more interested in her own phone. Large space but feels soulless.

Went for lunch today. Both myself & my friend had sandwiches. Really tasty, fresh bread. Nice tasting chips accompanying it. The steak was cooked to perfection for my friend, & my cheese & picalli sandwich was very nice too. Very impressed that it was so dog friendly. There is one side if the pub you can take dogs in & if you're not a dog fan you can go the other side. There was even a 'dog station' where they supplied bowls, fresh water, treats & blankets. Nice pub, nice food, nice staff, fast service & dog friendly. Definitely will go again!

My husband and I had such a lovely experience here❤️ The food was stellar, service / staff was amazing and the atmosphere was so homey/cozy with a touch of fancy🤫 Hands down one of the best Sunday roast ive had! My husband also enjoyed his steak pie and mash as well - plate was wiped clean 😉 Plenty of parking space as well for those whose drive.
