About This Pub
Ah, Copper Kitchen in Bicester – what a delightful spot it is, isn't it? From what I've gathered, it's this inviting bistro right in the heart of town, where they really nail the whole fresh, locally sourced food thing. Imagine tucking into pan-fried prawns or a hearty beef burger made with ingredients from nearby butchers and fishmongers – it's all prepared in an open kitchen, so you get that extra thrill of watching the magic happen. The reviews I've seen are glowing, with folks raving about the tasty meals, like creamy mushrooms on toast or a spot of halloumi, and how the staff go the extra mile, especially for birthdays with little surprises like banners and bubbly. It's got that warm, classical music vibe that makes for a proper relaxed dinner, without the noise drowning out your conversation. On the flip side, though, it's only open Wednesday through Saturday evenings, which might cramp your style if you're not a night owl or fancy a mid-week pint elsewhere. And while the prices are fair for what you get, it might not be the cheapest option if you're just after a quick bite. All in all, if you're in the mood for a solid, feel-good meal with great company, I'd say give it a go – it's one of those places that leaves you with a smile and a full belly.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely delicious and fresh, with locally sourced meats and fish that make every bite feel special and authentic.
-
It's a cosy and welcoming spot, perfect for intimate dinners or celebrating occasions like birthdays, with a lovely atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
-
The service is spot-on – efficient, friendly, and attentive without being over the top, which really adds to the enjoyable experience.
-
They've got a great variety on the menu, including tasty starters, mains, and desserts, plus specials that keep things exciting for repeat visits.
Cons
-
It's only open a few evenings a week, which can be a bit limiting if you're planning a spontaneous night out or fancy popping in on a Monday or Sunday.
-
The place might feel a tad quiet at times, which isn't ideal if you're after a lively buzz, though it's brilliant for a relaxed chat over dinner.
-
With moderate prices, it might stretch the budget a little for everyday meals, especially if you're looking for something more budget-friendly in Bicester.

Lovely meal for party of six celebrating my Birthday. Great food from set and standard menus, great service and atmosphere. They even put a lovely banner up and gave me a cheekily little bottle of bubbles to takeaway. We’ll be back
Beautiful little restaurant. Went here this evening for my birthday, the service was incredible, food was delicious. Quiet little place (which we love), Really fast service and everyone was lovely. We will definitely be back:)
Visited Copper Kitchen whilst staying in Bicester this weekend and was looking for somewhere nice to eat for my wife's 40th Birthday. Copper Kitchen did the trick! Lovely little place that smelt of amazing food as we walked in, seated quickly and settled in nicely with a nice Malbec. We went for bread and olives to nibble on, before steaks for main. My wife went for the sirloin steak and I had the fillet steak that was on the specials board. Both cooked perfectly! We had a great time and would definitely recommend. Thanks to all at Copper Kitchen. Best wishes
Thank you for a lovely evening. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and picked the perfect place. Beautiful restaurant, friendly attentive staff, beautiful food and loved the classical music - I personally can't bare it when music in restaurants is too loud and loved the background classical music (please don't change it). Will see you again soon!
We had dinner at this restaurant yesterday and it was great. Being a local Bicester resident, we've not visited restaurants on this side but we were glad we visited. They offer a great locally sourced 3 course menu for dinner but we went for 2 courses only as we were heading for a movie. I ordered the meat of the day which was steak with spinach which was great. My better half ordered the fish of the day and they were nice to customise the dish so she could have the salmon with beans and potato. The food arrived fairly quickly and the taste was great. The staff were excellent and surprised me for my birthday with an Eton mess dessert. Would visit again and highly recommended!
