About This Pub
Oh, The Olive Tree at The Plough is one of those pubs that just draws you in with its cosy, community feel – it's like stumbling upon a hidden gem in Bicester where everything feels just right. You'll love how the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, with their polite and attentive service turning a simple meal into a proper treat. The food really steals the show, offering up delicious home-cooked dishes that cater to all sorts, from vegetarians to those after gluten-free options, and it's all served at reasonable prices. That courtyard is a brilliant spot for soaking up the sun or enjoying a drink even on chillier evenings with the heaters on, and being dog-friendly means you can bring the whole gang along. On the flip side, it does get busy at times, so you might find yourself jostling for space or waiting a bit longer for a table, and the varying opening hours could catch you out if you're not prepared. All things considered, it's a solid choice for a relaxed night out, with plenty of heart and a few quirks that keep it real – I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area.

My husband and I visited the Olive Tree at the plough today for Father’s Day. As soon as we arrived we were warmly welcomed. All staff were polite, smartly dressed and worked very hard.
I chose the roast beef and my husband had roast lamb and WOW I can honestly say it was the nicest roast I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The presentation was great, the food was hot and absolutely delicious. We shall highly recommend this establishment and will definitely be returning. A special thanks to Georgia and Molly for your fabulous service today.
Very brief visit. Arrived at 9pm from a wedding. The young lady that booked me in was very friendly and chatty. Room was great, floor made think I'd drunk more than I had. 😀
I moved to Bicester 3 years ago and have been looking for a local pub to be our consistent go too and the Plough has not disappointed, great food, great drinks and super staff! Don't miss out on their dry aged beef in the fridge and the burger on the menu is perfect!
Traditional rustic pub offering drinks, restaurant, and rooms. Advertises a fine selection of cask ales, craft beers, locally sourced food, and Clumsy Goat coffee. Dog friendly. Five tables and wicker chairs on a patio at the front. Attentive service. Only gripe was seven people in the pub side, five sat spaced out at the bar like it’s their place, giving you the look that you’re the inconvenience trying to get served.
We haven’t even finished our stay yet, but whilst I remember I just wanted to show my appreciation for the lovely staff at The Plough. Especially Tom! We are staying at the plough and unfortunately there was a slight mix up with the rooms but very quickly Tom rectified this and gave us our meal on the house!! So kind! The room that we changed to is lovely and the pub and food is amazing - would 100% come back. We aren’t from Bicester but the pub made us feel just like a local. Thank you so much!
