About This Pub
Ah, the Bromfield Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local haunt in Chester, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, folks absolutely love the welcoming atmosphere and the staff who go out of their way to make sure you're looked after, whether you're there for a quick pint or a full meal. The food's straightforward and satisfying, like those juicy burgers or salt and pepper chicken that reviewers rave about, and at prices that won't leave you stunned – think great value without skimping on taste. It's especially ace for sports fans, with loads of screens and events like the Women's Euros making it a top pick for a lively watch party, and little touches like being dog-friendly or having quiz nights add to the fun. On the flip side, though, parking's not the easiest, so you might end up walking a short way or dipping into a paid spot, and if you're not in the mood for classic pub grub, it could feel a tad limited compared to somewhere more upscale. All in all, it's a solid choice for a casual get-together; I'd say give it a go if you're after that warm, unpretentious pub experience – you might just find yourself coming back for more.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
The food is spot-on – simple, hearty pub grub like burgers and chicken dishes that hit the spot without breaking the bank.
-
It's a brilliant spot for watching sports, with plenty of screens showing live action, plus extras like quiz nights and board games to keep things lively.
-
They're super dog-friendly, with water bowls and treats on offer, which is perfect if you're popping in with your furry mate.
-
Good value for money overall, with deals like the burger and pint offer that make it easy on the wallet.
Cons
-
Parking can be a bit of a faff, as it's mostly street-side or requires a quick trip to a pay-for spot nearby.
-
The menu sticks to classic pub fare, so if you're after something a bit more fancy or adventurous, it might not quite hit the mark.
-
Opening from midday means it's not ideal for a early breakfast or morning coffee stop.

Had a really pleasant evening on Saturday night.
The food was spot on nothing fancy just good pub grub with no fancy garnishing to distract you from the food.
We had salt and pepper chicken with a side of katsu curry, which together was delicious and a bargain at just over £15 for 2 people.
The staff were very friendly and the Guinness was just right.
A really good atmosphere and I love the fact that it's still a pub and not a fancy eaterie.
There were 6 of us and on our next visit to Chester we will definitely return again.
Visiting the area dropped in for dinner and a pint.
Ordered meal was on the table within 15 mins. Good meal and perfect served pint.
Bar staff polite and attentive.
Plenty of wide screen tvs to watch sport and pool table if you don't.
Went in to the Wednesday burger deal, £10 for a pint and choice of burgers (the choice changes every month). Absolutely outstanding food and service. Great selection of drinks and value for money. Accessibility is good, parking available on street outside and pay for parking just around the corner..Will definitely be coming back again.
Great service, serves a great Guinness and food is good especially the chicken strips. Dog friendly with water bowls and treats available. Loads of sport shown on numerous screens and a pull down projector too. There's also a selection of board games to play. Quiz nights on Mondays, karaoke last Friday of each month and live music on occasional Saturday nights from 9pm.

Me & the wife had a fantastic juicy burger & skinny fries tonight . Loaded with sea salt . Onion rings were cooked just right. Pale ale was also great on draft. Everyone was very welcoming. Great service. Overall brilliant night . Would thoroughly recommend. Fantastic lounge area. Bar area very laid back . (Small smoke/vape area to rear of pub.) All round great pub.
