About This Pub

Oh, let me tell you about the Chester Station Tap Room – it's become one of my go-to spots for a proper pint. I love how they've got this amazing array of beers and ciders on offer, from local craft brews to more adventurous options, so whether you're in the mood for a classic IPA or something a bit different, you're sorted. The staff really make the place; they're so approachable and know their stuff, which adds to that cosy, chatty vibe. Plus, the food's a winner – we tucked into a smashing breakfast there one morning, and it's brilliant that they open early, especially if you're an early riser or just passing through the station. On the flip side, I have to mention that parking can be a right pain, as it's not the easiest to find a spot nearby, and there was that one instance where someone had a mix-up with bringing their dog in, even after checking ahead. All in all, it's a fantastic spot for beer lovers looking for a relaxed outing, but maybe plan ahead to avoid any minor niggles – it's got that perfect balance of old-school charm and modern appeal that keeps me coming back.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • An incredible selection of beers and ciders – over 30 on tap and 40 in bottles, covering everything from craft brews to sours and porters, so there's something for every taste.
  • The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always up for a chat and happy to recommend a drink or dish.
  • They serve great food, including a hearty breakfast that's perfect for early starters, and it's all available from as early as 6am.
  • The atmosphere is spot on, with a beautiful blend of historic charm from the old station building and modern comforts that make it feel welcoming and relaxed.
  • It's conveniently located at Chester Station, making it ideal for a quick stop before or after a train journey.
Cons
  • There can be some confusion around their pet policies, as one person mentioned being turned away despite checking in advance, which might put off dog owners.
  • Parking nearby is a bit of a hassle, so you might end up walking a short distance or dealing with limited spots.

Me and my girlfriend loved it, there are around 30 beers and ciders on tap and an additional 40 in bottles in the chillers, they have everything from craft beers, belgians, wheat beers, sours, porters and hot drinks too, there are two entrances one leading into the strain station and one leading to outside the station. A great addition to Chester!

Only just opened and it’s already one of my favorites. With over 20 beer taps, there’s something for everyone—from local lagers to bold IPAs and unique craft brews. The building itself is stunning—beautifully renovated with a great blend of historic charm and modern comfort. The local food is another highlight. Fresh, flavorful. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place should be on your list. A true gem!

Great to finally to have a place in Chester where you can get a mega fry up and coffee before 8 am on a Saturday I like to take the dog for a lap of the city walls for sunrise so this place is perfect as no where else in Chester is open before 8/9 and I’m not a fan of processed stuff from macdonalds and Wetherspoons and I was told by the pleasant young lady making to coffee that they source there pork from local pigs in Chester so it’s great to support local farms and businesses. Great breakfast and atmosphere will be returning to try some of there local ales

We deliberately set out to support this new venue. I had checked out by phone that it was dog friendly and assured it was over the phone. Nonetheless, arrived for a breakfast (parking is an issue nearby!) whilst my partner was trying to find a parking slot, I went in. I waited in the doorway, whilst the manager was seemingly instructing staff what to do! What he didn’t do is tell them to instantly welcome a visitor. I stood there anxiously and waited and waited! Eventually, I went across and addressed the throng, asking if I was welcome to stay, and did they want me to simply leave? Sorry guyz lots of work to do! I was shown to a table at this point and it was dirty ! I nonetheless ordered 2 Cappuccino’s & two bacon butties. They arrived forthwith and with half of an apology. No one particularly said goodbye & there are lots of places for a bacon buttie! A further comment: paper cups & plastic tops in this day & age of saving the planet! Aren’t we bothered to wash a few cups ?
