About This Pub

Ah, Broad Street Townhouse – it's one of those places in Bath that really captures the essence of a traditional British spot, with its historic limestone building and a welcoming café/bar downstairs where you can kick back with a coffee or cocktail after a day of wandering the city. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the rooms are a highlight, all comfy and stylish with those plush beds and smart bathrooms that make you feel pampered, and the staff are just brilliant, always ready with a smile and that extra touch of care that turns a good stay into a great one. The breakfast is another winner, packed with tasty, fresh options that set you up nicely for the day. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect – some rooms can get a bit too stuffy, especially up on the third floor, which might leave you tossing and turning on warmer nights, and a few of the furnishings have that slightly worn-in look that could do with a refresh. Still, with its prime location and that genuine, homely vibe, it's a solid choice for anyone looking for a relaxed pub experience in Bath, as long as you're prepared for a mix of the brilliant and the bearable.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The rooms are absolutely charming and comfortable, with stylish decor and lovely bathrooms that make you feel right at home.
  • The staff are top-notch – incredibly friendly and attentive, going out of their way to make your stay memorable, like carrying luggage up those narrow stairs.
  • Breakfast is a real treat, with delicious options like smashed avocado on sourdough that hits the spot after a morning in Bath.
  • It's smack in the heart of the city, making it super convenient for exploring all the historic sights without any hassle.
  • The overall atmosphere is warm and authentic, blending that classic Bath charm with a cosy pub vibe that's perfect for unwinding.
Cons
  • Some rooms can get uncomfortably hot, especially on the upper floors, which might disrupt your sleep even with fans on hand.
  • A few of the furnishings feel a bit outdated, so it might not have that fresh, modern edge you'd expect in a boutique spot.
  • The opening hours could be a tad limiting on quieter days, wrapping up earlier than you'd hope for a proper evening out.

Lovely room, with a lovely bathroom and comfy bed. Unfortunately it was just too hot, the room was uncomfortably hot, two fans were provided but just blew hot air around. To be honest not sure what else could have been done as we were on the third floor but is a shame as affected our sleep. Lovely breakfast included and great location

Lovely boutique hotel in the center of Bath. Comfortable, cosy room with lots of flair. Great host, carried our heavy suitcase up the narrow staircase. Extraordinarily friendly and professional service in the beautiful breakfast room. If you want atmosphere, stay here!

My wife and I had a lovely stay at Broad St. Townhouse this past weekend. The room was comfortable and stylish with a really nice shower. We were well taken care of by Charlotte and Sarah. The breakfast was particularly delicious, I had smashed avocado sourdough toast with poached eggs (compliments to Chef Joe). I would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a relaxing stay right in the centre of historic Bath Spa.

Thanks to Charlotte our three days were pure bliss. She could not do enough for us and a credit to the establishment. Our room was lovely and clean and serviced daily. Breakfast each morning was amazing and it was right in the heart of Bath with easy access to everything. We were very comfortable. We love you Charlotte,❤️

We wanted the experience of staying in a pub boutique and Broad street Townhouse did not disappoint. The furnishing were somewhat outdated, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had been updated and was very clean. My biggest takeaway was the exceptional service and friendly staff. Every staff member was very responsive to request and more than willing to assist. I'd stay again just because the service was excellent! Did I mention the location is right in the heart of the city.
