About This Pub
You know, when you step into Bath Cider House, it's like discovering a little haven for cider lovers right in the heart of Bath. They've got this incredible array of ciders on tap, from refreshing orange ones that are spot on for watching the game, to floral and passionfruit blends that feel like a proper treat – it's all about that passion for crafting unique flavours. The place really shines with its events, like the brewery tours where you get to taste straight from the barrel, and it's brilliant for catching live sport or just enjoying the beer garden on a nice evening. On the flip side, don't be put off by the exterior; it looks a bit plain from outside, which might mean you miss it at first glance, and service can be hit or miss depending on how busy it is – sometimes the staff are wrapped up in other duties. The food's hearty, with those massive pizzas that are great for sharing but could leave you stuffed, and while it's tasty, it's not going to blow your socks off if you're after something fancy. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good laugh and some quality drinks, but it's worth going in with realistic expectations to make the most of it.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The cider selection is absolutely brilliant, with a fantastic range from classic kegs to their own quirky on-site brews like orange and passionfruit flavours – perfect for experimenting with something new.
-
They've got a welcoming atmosphere once you're inside, with events like brewery tours and live sport screenings that make it a lively spot for a great night out.
-
The food's a real highlight, especially those massive pizzas and other options like vegan nachos; they're generous portions and hit the spot after a few pints.
-
There's a lovely beer garden for chilling out, especially on a sunny day in Bath, adding to the relaxed vibe.
-
The staff seem knowledgeable and friendly, as mentioned in reviews about the tours, which adds a personal touch to the experience.
Cons
-
The outside doesn't do it justice – it might look a bit unassuming from the street, so you could easily walk past without noticing.
-
Service can vary; in quieter times, the team might be focused on other tasks, which could make things feel a tad inattentive.
-
Portions are generous, but that means some dishes, like the pizzas, might be overwhelming for one person or if you're not in the mood for a feast.
-
It's not always buzzing; reviews mention it can be calm before it gets lively, which might not suit those after a high-energy crowd every visit.
-
While the food's good, it's described as 'okay' in some spots, so if you're expecting gourmet, it might fall a bit short.

Had a lovely little tour lead by Francis, who explained their cider making process, allowed us to taste direct from the barrel and ended with a flight! Definitely recommend
The perfect pub! So many drinks, boxed ciders, sports and beer garden. And amazing, massive pizzas
Deceiving from outside but once you enter you present by large copper vats stairs take you down to the bar area, lots of tables so easily to find a table
Large selection of beers and ciders on tap I went for the peach flavoured cider very crisp and fruity
The speciality is pizza 🍕 one size with gluten free option available
Pizza are worth the trip large enough to feed 3 people
Went here during National Pizza day where you get a free pitcher of their house cider with every pizza you order. Really chill vibe. Got their artichoke pizza and vegan nachos and didn’t expect the pizza to be so huge! Definitely struggled as two people trying to finish it. The taste was good, crust was bit on the dry side. The nachos were mid. Their house cider was tasty but didn’t have much alcohol content in it but nevertheless a decent drink to pair with the pizza. Definitely give this place a visit when you’re in Bath!
Great day out cider house has a great selection of ciders. We came in the quieter part of the day so staff where focused on other duties the atmosphere was the calm before the storm. Food was ok the fresh and hot, but it was a good size for two wise. The decor is great nice beer garden
