About This Pub

Ah, Brickmakers Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway, tucked away in Quarry Bank. From what I've gathered from folks who've popped in, the staff are absolute gems, always up for a chat and making sure everyone feels welcome, which really sets the tone for a great night. The drinks selection is spot on too, with a good range of beers and ales that keep things interesting without overwhelming you. It's got that homely atmosphere where you can settle in for a good old natter or even catch some live music if you're lucky, making it a solid choice for a casual evening out. On the flip side, it's pretty no-frills, so if you're hoping for a place with heaps of food options or something a bit more polished, it might not quite hit the mark. Still, for what it is – an inexpensive, friendly spot to enjoy a pint and some company – it's a winner in my book, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area and fancy a straightforward, enjoyable pub experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in
  • They've got a cracking selection of beers and ales, including some proper local favourites that always hit the spot
  • The atmosphere is spot on for a good chinwag with mates, with a cosy vibe that's perfect for unwinding after a long day
  • It's got that genuine community feel, where regulars and newcomers alike are made to feel part of the gang, and there's even the odd bit of live music to liven things up
Cons
  • It might come across as a bit straightforward without any fancy extras, so if you're after something more upscale or with a big food menu, it could feel a tad basic
  • The operating hours seem to vary a little, which might catch you out if you're planning a late one, though it's generally open most evenings

Started using the pub many moons ago. It was my big brother John who i used to meet in there for a chin wag about our favourite team, the Baggies and a game of dommies on a Tuesday and Thursday against two scallywags. Unfortunately John was called upstairs just over 3 years ago and i still use the pub. Mine host Sue and the rest of the bar staff are simply brilliant. Very friendly pub. Good banter with the locals 👍🙋‍♂️.

Home of beer and rock! Occasionally you may be lucky enough to catch Nip Turner's one man show. The finest rock vocalist you are likely to see! Oh, and the beer's good and the people are friendly!
