About This Pub
Ah, Brewhouse & Kitchen in Chester – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local gem, you know? From the moment you step in, you're greeted by the enticing aroma of fresh brews and hearty food, and it's clear why folks rave about it. The beers are a highlight; they're hyper-local and crafted right on site, so you get that authentic taste that's hard to beat, especially with deals like the affordable pints during happy hours. Pair that with their mouthwatering menu – think succulent Sunday roasts or those massive nachos that could feed a crowd – and you've got a winning combination for a relaxed lunch or a lively evening out. The staff really make it special too; they're chatty, helpful, and go the extra mile, whether you're there for a quick drink or one of their engaging masterclasses. It's also brilliantly dog-friendly, which is a lovely touch if you're popping in with your furry friend. But, let's be honest, it's not without its quirks – you might face a wait for food when it's buzzing, so planning ahead could save the day. Overall, it's a fantastic choice for anyone wanting a bit of everything in a pub; I'd say give it a go if you're in Chester, as it's bound to leave you with a smile and maybe a new favourite pint.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The craft beers are absolutely spot on – their in-house brews are fresh, award-winning, and pair brilliantly with the food, making it a real treat for beer enthusiasts.
-
The food is a standout; from massive portions like those huge nachos to their signature beer-infused dishes and Sunday roasts, it's hearty, tasty, and full of flavour – perfect for a proper meal out.
-
Staff are genuinely friendly and knowledgeable, always ready with great recommendations, whether it's for a pint or a masterclass on brewing or spirits.
-
It's super welcoming for everyone, including dogs, with a cosy atmosphere, comfortable seating, and plenty of special offers like the Burger and Pint deal on Mondays.
-
They've got a lively vibe with events and masterclasses, making it ideal for catching up with mates or celebrating something special.
Cons
-
Service can sometimes be a bit slow during busy times, like when there's a wait for food that might stretch longer than you'd hope, which could put a dampener on things.
-
It might get quite crowded, especially with all the events on offer, so you could find it a tad overwhelming if you're after a quiet pint.

A wonderful and Totally Unexpected Gin Class ! Thankyou Domanika with your vast knowledge and expert delivery. A great looking venue with its own Microbrewery. Highly recommended for any one of their Master class tasting classes , food or just a quick pint ! See you again next Saturday around 1350hrs ! Just in case there is another No Show ! 😉👏👏👏👏
Lovely building with plenty of comfortable seating and a good range of beers, a lot coming from their in house brww that you pass on the way in - and they had been brewing on the day we visited.
We were going to eat, however on trying to order we were told that it would be an hour and a half before we would be able to as 'a large party' had arrived. The pub was not that busy, looked like a party of 6 in one area and possibly 8-10 in the restaurant area and a chef leaning against the end of the bar.....a real disappointment as the menu looked good.
Had a great meal yesterday, food was lovely. & Staff were fantastic. The nachos were huge! We definitely over ordered for the portion sizes. All the other food that came out looked just as delicious. Particularly love the beer recommendations that the provide with the food options, great touch
Highly recommended. Excellent experience. Warm, friendly pub. Delicious B&K Cheeseburger and pint, special price (Mondays £12.95). Dark IPA 5.5 ABV superb (£4.75!).
This is the most dog friendly pub I’ve ever been to! We felt like the dogs were wanted instead of just accepted and tolerated. All the staff were amazing, very friendly and professional. The food was unbelievable! We had a range as there was 6 of us. The Sunday dinner, steaks and burgers we had were delicious and to a high standard. We love that on the menu it tells you what pint would complement your food! The drinks were lovely and the building itself was lovely decorated and very clean. We will definitely be back and we will recommend to everyone (especially with dogs).
