About This Pub
Ah, the Brentwood – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper British gem, tucked away in Rotherham with its gorgeous Georgian-style building and leafy grounds. I have to say, what really stands out is the warmth from the staff; they're so helpful and make you feel right at home, whether you're booking a room or just popping in for a bite. The food's a winner too – think big, tasty portions at prices that won't break the bank, ideal for a relaxed evening. It's family-oriented with nice touches like a beer garden and easy parking, and being close to Sheffield and the Peaks means you're never far from a bit of adventure. But, fair's fair, it's not all rosy; some areas, especially in the annexe, feel a bit dated and could use an update, and there've been moans about rooms not being properly serviced or missing essentials like fresh towels. Still, with that high rating and cheerful reviews, it's clear the good bits shine through, making it a solid choice for a laid-back getaway or a quick stopover. If you're heading that way, I'd say give it a go – just keep those little quirks in mind for a smoother visit!

-

Cons
-
Some parts, like the annexe, could do with a bit of a refresh – outdated carpets and rooms might not feel as polished as the rest.
-
There have been a few hitches with room servicing, such as missing items like milk, coffee, or towels, which can put a dampener on things.
-
No card payment option on arrival means you might need to dash to an ATM, which isn't ideal if you're tired from travelling.
-
Occasional oversights, like rooms not being serviced during a stay, could leave you feeling a tad overlooked.

Beautiful building, we got very big room, Desk lady was incredible kind and helpful, Good food in restaurant, giant portions and reasonable prices. Full of English people on Saturday night.
big car park so no issues with parking.
Building has Massive windows so rooms was very light. Size of the rooms was amazing, Very clean, bathrooms big and comfortable with windows. Plenty of room for luggages and clothes to hang. Very warm, not dump. Everything was the same as shown on the pictures. Very comfortable beds. My review is about room no1.
Good quiet and very green area/ location
What can I say, Jo was fantastic with my booking as I required a ground floor room for Mother, who finds it difficult to climb stairs. We got 2 rooms beside each other.
We stayed in the Annexe, which could do with a little update carpet & rooms. The housekeeper missed restocking the milk in the room, but I got milk the next morning (just a little over sight).
Staff were very pleasant, from housekeepers to bar staff.
Booked a table for 3 and had to change it to 5 as relatives came for dinner with us, and that was no bother for the staff (I didn't get the ladies' name 😢).
The food was lovely and the pints were good.
We would definitely stay here again as we really did have a very pleasant stay. No too far from the town centre but Rotherham is hilly so needed to drive. Bus stop right outside the Hotel which would've been very handy if needed.
Thank you so much for all your help Jo when booking. Take care
No card payment facility on arrival directions to ATM given ! Was clean and tidy, but the room was not serviced in the whole days of my stay!
I spent the day/night at this hotel and the receptionist was called Jo and she was honestly the most welcoming hostess I have ever experienced. She couldn't have been more accommodating and she made me feel as though nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Jo : )
Great service, pleasant staff, welli cooked good value food.historic building the only downside was the maid service she didn't leave any coffee only tea and only one bath & one hand towel we were in an annexe and didn't arrive until late so couldn't notify anyone . We had to use one small & one large between us.The rest of the staff are attentive & accommodating.😃👍
