About This Pub
Ah, The High House – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Rotherham, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's brilliant on match days for Rotherham United; folks rave about the electric energy and how it turns into the perfect spot to cheer on the team with a pint in hand. The drinks are reasonably priced, and they've got some smashing food options, like those bacon sandwiches that hit the spot without costing a fortune. Plus, the staff come across as genuinely welcoming, and little extras like the pool table at a bargain price make it even more appealing for a casual get-together. On the flip side, though, it can be a bit of a downer if you're there towards the end of the night – one person mentioned getting nudged out pretty quickly after last orders, which might spoil the mood if you're not keeping an eye on the clock. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening or a match day knees-up, but I'd say it's worth popping in early to make the most of it and avoid any last-minute rushes. If you're after a balanced spot with more highs than lows, give it a go and see what you think!

It's got a great vibe overall, with neat designs on the walls that add a nice touch to the place.
Cons
-
They can be a bit strict with closing times, like rushing folks out at 12:35 when last orders were called, which might leave you feeling a tad hurried.

Based on the reviews, it seems there might not be as much going on outside of match days, so it could feel quieter at other times.

Best pub I've been to in along time just nipped in for a smirnoth ice deffo coming back
Went in at 12am last night. I understand they closed at 1 so didn’t expect to have many drinks. Lazy orders was called at 12:30 so we got a final drink and by 12:35 the bouncers were stood behind us telling us we needed to hurry up and finish our drinks. A group sat inside has the same thing and argued back and the bouncers started to have a go at them. How can you expect people to have a drink in 5 minutes when you don’t close for another 30
Another visit here and now they have added a food bar for Rotherham fc home games. Had a bacon and tomato sandwich was great. Low prices on food a cheap prices for drinks. Will be visiting again very. 5 Star and many more.
Me and my friend had an epic time at this pub, welcomed at the counter that is presented grandly. The designs on the wall are a neat addition including the one showing the name of the pub; we visited to play pool at a cheap rate of just £1 for 2 games! We were treated well by the staff, also the toilets had been kept clean.
