So, I've been having a look at the Alison Arms in Coppull, and it's one of those pubs that just warms you up from the get-go. The owners and staff are absolute gems, always up for a chat and putting on brilliant events like karaoke on Fridays or bingo on Tuesdays – it's the sort of place where you can really unwind and have a laugh. The drinks are spot on too, with fair prices and a good variety, and they've smartened things up with that nice view over Rivington, making it feel fresh and inviting. But, to be fair, it's not all perfect; there was this one off-putting moment in a review where things got a bit heavy-handed with ID checks, leaving some feeling a tad unwelcome. Still, with the overall buzz being so positive, I'd say it's worth popping in for a pint and seeing for yourself – just keep an eye out for those occasional slip-ups, as it's mostly a cracking little spot for a relaxed evening with mates.

Nice little pub, friendly 👌
Appalling people. After refusing to serve my 21 year old daughter in law alcohol (fair enough she didn't have ID). The owners decide to stand outside and watch what our family where doing. 6 adults and 2 toddlers. The manner in which my son and 75 year old father where spoken to questioning whether alcohol was for my daughter in law? (She had a large coke by the way). We will NOT be back. Customer service training should be sought as you clearly do not respect paying customers.
Came here on a Saturday with a friend while the karaoke was on. The owners were serving drinks and they were very friendly.
We talked to the DJ running the karaoke as well and he was also very friendly.
The drinks were reasonably priced and there was a decent selection available as well.
I don't get much chance to go to the pub these days but next time I do I will definitely be popping back in.
A pub we used to avoid, now very much improved and making the most of the grassed area and view over Rivington. We won't be avoiding it again.
