About This Pub
Ah, the Yeoman of England – it's one of those pubs that really captures that cosy village feel in Northampton, with its inviting beer garden and a welcoming vibe that's just right for popping in with the family or the dog for a bite and a pint. I have to say, the staff stand out as the real stars; they're friendly and efficient, making you feel right at home, and the food can be spot on when it's good – think juicy steaks or classic fish and chips that leave you satisfied. Plus, with all the live sports and events on offer, it's a brilliant spot to gather with mates for a match or a fun night out. On the flip side, though, it's not all smooth sailing; I've heard a few tales of meals arriving less than piping hot or not living up to expectations, and service can sometimes feel a bit lacking, like when you're left to find your own table or face a longer wait than you'd like. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening, but it might be worth keeping an eye on those little niggles to make the most of your visit – after all, we all want that perfect pub experience, don't we?

They've got a great lineup of events and live sports, making it an exciting place to catch the action, like the Women's Euros, with something on most nights.
Cons
-
Food quality can be hit or miss, with some dishes arriving lukewarm or not quite up to scratch, like that disappointing pea risotto.
-
Service isn't always spot on; you might find yourself waiting a bit or not getting that personal touch, such as being shown to your table.

It can feel surprisingly quiet on what should be busy evenings, which might take away from the lively pub vibe you're hoping for.
-
Wait times for food can drag on, leaving you a tad frustrated when you're eager to tuck in.

Enjoyed delicious food and wine at the yeoman earlier this evening. The staff are so accommodating as I had asked for a certain table beforehand which they made sure to book for me. Steaks cooked to perfection and the waitress was lovely! Looking forward to return.
Fish and chips were very good, a restaurant worth going to again.
We booked a table for two on Easter Sunday. Thought it would be packed but it was surprisingly quiet. We were met at the bar by friendly, smiling staff. We ordered drinks and were told where our table is but not taken to our table.
Menu and cutlery was at the table but not laid out. A good selection of food was on offer. We made our choice and ordered it at the bar.
On looking around, the place is in need of some TLC. The walls need a coat of paint even if they forego filling in the holes in the plaster, it would help to smarten and freshen the place up. We noticed a mixture of table furniture, some of it seemed to be from an office.
The food came reasonably quickly. It was fair pub grub, lots of it but lacked quality. The meats took some chewing, the veg was good but the Yorkshire Puddings were either tough and hardly edible or shattered into pieces when cut.
So yes, the place was ok. Drinks were good and seemed well kept and the staff wanted to make it all pleasant. Yet the decor and food let the place down which is a shame really because a bit of attention to detail would enhance it's ability to make customers want to return.
A brilliant family pub with a full events schedule, something taking place to get involved in most nights of the week and a very friendly environment. The food is always delicious and the bar team are efficient and friendly too. A great pub in a pretty village.
Don't normally write reviews on food but felt this time it was warranted. Waited 40 minutes for food which was brought out on hot plates but lukewarm food. Pea risotto was disgusting at just over £11. I thought risotto was a reasonably runny dish. Not this time. May be some training needed on how to produce this dish. This is my first experience of this local pub. Unfortunately will not risk going again. Only good thing was the waitress who appeared to be rushed off her feet but was continually up beat and cheerful.
