About This Pub
Ah, The Sun Inn – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local gem, tucked away in the heart of Hardingstone. From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the food really steals the show; think hearty, well-crafted dishes that are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the taste buds, whether you're popping in for a quick lunch or settling in for Sunday roasts. The mix of traditional decor with a fresh twist creates such a welcoming space, perfect for catching up with mates over a pint or enjoying a family day out in the garden. It's clear the team there puts in the effort to make everyone feel at home, with top-notch service that shines through in stories of special occasions and events. On the brighter side, it's moderately priced, so you won't break the bank, and they've got options for all sorts, including outdoor areas that are just lovely on a nice day. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses – finding a parking spot can be a bit of a nuisance, especially when it's buzzing, and if you're after a peaceful night, you might want to double-check the calendar for any big dos that could turn up the volume. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint or a bite, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in Northamptonshire, just go in with realistic expectations and you'll likely have a grand time.

We visited The Sun Inn for a meal and drinks on a Friday evening. We'd won a meal for 2 with wine voucher in a raffle so thought we'd have a bit of a date night. Unfortunately on arrival we discovered that we had booked our romantic night out on the same evening they were holding a Sixth Formers party. The pub was heaving and there was a band on. Thankfully as we'd pre-booked we were given a nice table in a cosy corner. But the band playing for the party were so loud we could hardly hear ourselves speak. Obviously this is not the fault of the pub, it's just unfortunate our romantic night out didn't work out as such. As the pub was so busy, service was quite slow.It was a good 15 minutes before someone took our drinks order and another 15 minutes before they were brought to our table. Food was also slow coming out but when it did it was very good. We ordered a portion of nachos to share as a starter and they were honestly the best nachos I've ever had. Fluffy but crunchy and absolutely loaded with toppings. It was then another long wait for our mains to come out. Again, worth it though as the food was delicious. My husband had a steak and I had swordfish. Both meals were cooked to perfection and very, very tasty. We didn't bother with desert as nothing really took our fancy so we asked for the bill. Overall we had a night out, some nice wine and some delicious food. We will definitely be returning, just hopefully on a quieter evening next time!
Luscious food , very much eye candy on a plate. Taste amazing 😍
We went Christmas Day and brought our dog and it was perfect! The staff really made our experience special. The food was faultless, great value for money and no long wait times! Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to dine out for Christmas, see you again next year!
Had Xmas lunch with office colleagues. Fantastic food and atmosphere. The only difficulty I found was on street parking. Luckily I was able to find one spot 😁.
Highly recommended.
I hired the function room (The Barn) for my wife's 40th Suprise Party. Meghan and Daniella took me through the options and made the process really easy. They also recommended an event styling company of whom they had worked with before, and she was amazing too. The place looked absolutely fab and the party guests all commented positively.
I opted for the BBQ package and the food was delicious. They also cated for some of our Vegan and Vegetarian guest.
The one and only very small issue and my reason for the reduced star on the service side, was that on a number of occassions, we had to go into the main bar to get someones attention to serve our guests in the funtion room bar. Maybe they were short staffed that night and busy, but they were all still very nice and pleasant.
All in all, I would highly recommend the Sun Inn if you need somewhere to have a party/wedding in lovely surroundings.
