Ye Olde Huntercombe Arms, Slough SL1 6AB

About This Pub

Ah, Ye Olde Huntercombe Arms – it's one of those classic pubs in Slough that you might stumble upon and think, 'This could be a hidden gem.' I have to say, the staff can be really spot on when they're on form, serving up a solid selection of drinks and food that hits the spot for a relaxed evening. The homely atmosphere, with its comfy seats and big screens, makes it ideal for catching the latest match or just chatting away with friends. They've got some fun events like open mic nights that bring a bit of energy to the place, which is always a plus. On the flip side, though, it's not without its downsides – the lack of cask ale might put off those who fancy a proper pint, and the building itself looks like it needs a good spruce-up to shake off that run-down feel. We've heard tales of long waits for drinks, especially if things get busy, and a few booking mishaps that could spoil a special occasion. All in all, it's worth popping in if you're local, but go with an open mind and maybe plan ahead to avoid any headaches – it's got heart, but it's not quite the polished experience you'd hope for everywhere.

Good service from the barmaid who works there, but sadly no cask ale 🙁 Could also do with some refurbishment too.

We went to a function and they only had one member of staff on. You couldn't get a drink for over a 20 minute wait and then it was thrown at you. Place is very run down so I wouldn't recommend it. They also rent part of the car park off to a hand car wash so parking is a problem if you are going to a function. I guess they don't normally have many people using the pub

Originally booked this place for my daughter’s 1st Birthday Party. On the morning of the party we called them to let them know we were on our way when the new landlord responded with ‘this hasn’t even booked’. Bearing in mind, I had booked this in July. We turned up and there was another party in the hall that we had booked! When we looked in the diary, our booking had been physically crossed out! We never cancelled, a member of their staff took it upon themselves to do that! The new landlord was very rude, and didn’t really have a clue what he was doing. He had a really bad attitude and didn’t care. Didn’t try and help us in the slightest! The barmaid, Helen, was incredible! If it wasn’t for her I doubt my daughters party would have even of happened. She found a space for us to use, rearranged the whole pub to help us and was genuinely nice! A real asset to a very run down, dirty pub! She should definitely be in management in a place that actually deserves her! Thank you Helen! You did amazingly and really saved the day!

Really enjoyed Damian's open mic night. Warren behind the bar made awesome pints of Strongbow. The pub itself has a homely feel with its comfy seats and big screens for those who follow sport. It's a very nice pub in the west of Slough and one of the best 🍻👍
