The Pineapple in Slough

Ah, The Pineapple – what a gem of a pub tucked away in Dorney, right by the Thames. I've got to say, it's one of those places that just makes you want to linger a bit longer, with its Grade II listed building and that inviting beer garden where you can soak up the sun or huddle under the heaters on a cooler day. The staff are absolute stars, always quick with a smile and ready to make your visit enjoyable, and the food really shines through with those famous sandwiches packed with fresh fillings and the homemade pizzas that hit the spot every time. It's brilliant for a relaxed weekend lunch or a cheeky midweek pint, and being dog-friendly means you can pop in straight from a stroll along the river without a worry. On the flip side, though, it's not without its quirks – I heard from a mate that the bread on their sarnie wasn't up to scratch once, which took the edge off an otherwise lovely meal, and goodness, it does get packed, so you might struggle with parking or grabbing a seat if you don't plan ahead. All in all, it's a solid choice for us pub lovers, with more highs than lows, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a go for that welcoming community feel.
