About This Pub
Ah, Ye Olde Cock Inn – it's one of those classic Manchester pubs that really hits the spot for a laid-back evening. From what I've gathered chatting about it with folks, the staff stand out as the real gems; they're warm, efficient, and make you feel like you're catching up with old friends, whether you're grabbing lunch or settling in for the big match. The place is impeccably clean and spacious, with plenty of perks like a beer garden for sunny days and being dog-friendly, which is brilliant if you're popping in with your furry mate. Plus, those special deals on food make it a wallet-friendly choice for a midweek meal or weekend treat. On the flip side, though, it's not all perfect – a few have mentioned the food falling short, like cold chips or bland options that don't quite live up to the hype, and waits can stretch longer than you'd hope, even when it's not packed. Overall, it's a solid pick for pub goers looking for a welcoming vibe and good value, but maybe plan for a simple drink if you're in a rush or want to avoid any culinary surprises. Give it a go, and you'll likely have a cracking time!

Lovely pub. Popped in earlier for some lunch and was served by Ella at the bar who was so lovely and attentive. Couldn't have asked for better service. Would recommend :)
Lovely lunch&a couple of beers in the sunshine following a river walk. I've always found this pub to be friendly and welcoming, and Caroline was most certainly that today! Very efficient and extremely helpful, all with a lovely smile...can't fault our visit on Monday 😀
Attended here today for lunch with a group of 5 people. There was no one else sat down for food. We walked in sat down and proceeded to order our food. 50 minutes later it arrived, and the only thing I can say is we were disappointed. Cold chips, flavourless steak ciabatta with a slice of plastic dairylea cheese on top. The salt and pepper chicken was cremated, as was the garlic bread. Utter disappointment on what was supposed to be a treat for lunch. If they were busy I would have understood, but we were the only ones there. The whole quick lunch went out the window with a 50 minute wait.
Thank you for your response I can confirm yes some food was refunded at the time and the lady was super apologetic. However if you read your reviews it seems to be a common theme for lunch time goers. Maybe this is something that can be looked in to to prevent it happening again?
Been here for lunch twice and can't fault the food or staff. The menu is good value for money and the place was clean. Ordering via the app and at the till was easy. They were happy to make amendments to our order e.g. swapping chips for fries. Food only took 10/15 minutes after ordering to arrive. This place is dog friendly and broadcasts football matches.
One of the cleanest pubs I have visited in a long while. Went here to dinner on a Monday evening- the pub is spacious, well-maintained, clean and organised. Best part- they had special deals- such as £15.49 for two main courses from Monday to Saturday- wohoo!
The staff was limited, but very friendly.
We tried the Mushroom chilli with rice which was very flavourful. Also tried the scampi and chips- which was well-cooked, and the chips were delicious.
Quick service, great ambiance, lovely staff.
Will visit again.
