Ah, Yates York – what a spot it is, tucked away in the centre of York near the River Ouse. It's one of those places that really knows how to bring people together, whether you're popping in for a quick drink after shopping or gathering for a birthday bash. I have to say, the staff stand out as the real highlight; they're so thoughtful and on point, always keeping things running smoothly and making sure everyone's looked after. The drinks menu is spot on too, with a solid range of ales and ciders that hit the mark, and if you're into watching the footy or joining in on karaoke, it's got you covered with all the live action and events. That beer garden is just lovely for soaking up the outdoors when the weather's playing ball. On the downside, though, the place can be a bit of a maze to navigate, which might leave you scratching your head if you're not used to it, and it does tend to get pretty hectic at times, so if you're after something more low-key, it might not be your first choice. All in all, it's a solid pub for a good laugh and some quality time with friends, but it's worth going in with an open mind to get the best out of it.
