About This Pub
Ah, The Stone Roses Bar – it's one of those places in York that just grabs you right away with its vibrant energy and top-notch indie playlists that get everyone tapping their feet. I've heard from loads of folks that it's brilliant for a night out, especially if you're into live music and discovering new bands; the affordable drinks are a real winner too, making it accessible for a quick pint after work or a student gathering. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with walls full of music memorabilia that make you feel like you're stepping into a rock 'n' roll time capsule. On the flip side, it's not all perfect – some have mentioned dodgy toilets and the odd item going missing, which is a bit of a downer, and it can get rammed on weekends, so plan ahead if you don't fancy queuing. Still, with such high ratings and positive vibes overall, it's worth a visit for anyone wanting a genuine, fun pub experience, just keep your expectations realistic and your valuables close!
Pros and Cons

Cons
-
It can get a bit messy at times, like with the toilets not always being in top shape, which might put you off if you're after a pristine experience.
-
There's a risk of things going missing, as one person mentioned their sunglasses disappearing, so keep an eye on your belongings.
-
Queues can be a nightmare on busy nights, particularly Saturdays, so you might have to get there early to avoid the hassle.
-
They don't serve food, which is a shame if you're looking for a bite to eat with your drinks.
-
The place is popular, so it might feel a tad overcrowded during peak times, making it hard to find a spot.

Toilets were blocked with vomit and little plastic bags, sunglasses were taken and once I put £5 in the jukebox it was banging 👌

The Stone Roses Bar in York is an absolute gem for music lovers! From the moment you walk in, you’re hit with an amazing atmosphere—walls covered in iconic music memorabilia, dim lighting that sets the mood, and, most importantly, a playlist full of classic indie and rock anthems. If you love bands like Oasis, The Stone Roses, Arctic Monkeys, or The Smiths, this place is a dream come true.
