About This Pub

You know, I had a wander into Workers Cafe the other day, and it's one of those unpretentious places on Upper Street that feels just right for a laid-back bite. They've been serving up all-day breakfasts, sandwiches, and British classics since 1986, and you can really taste the effort with fresh veggies and quality ingredients in most dishes – I mean, their breakfast items and smoothies are absolute winners if you're after something hearty and flavoursome. The outdoor seats are a treat for watching the world go by, and the overall atmosphere is peaceful and inviting, which makes it easy to settle in. On the upside, the staff are often lovely and attentive, giving that homely feel. But let's be honest, it's not all perfect; I've heard a few tales of service being a tad frosty or dishes like pasta coming out a bit mushy and underwhelming. Still, with its reasonable prices and solid grub, it's worth checking out for a casual meal, especially if you're in the mood for breakfast – just go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a decent time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is fresh and delicious, especially the breakfast options like traditional English fare and smoothies, made with quality ingredients that really hit the spot.
  • It's affordably priced, making it a brilliant choice for a casual meal without emptying your wallet.
  • The atmosphere is comfy and peaceful, with a welcoming interior and outdoor seating that's perfect for soaking up the London vibe.
  • Service is often friendly and warm, adding a nice touch to your visit.
Cons
  • Some dishes can fall short, like overcooked pasta or uninspiring vegetables that don't quite deliver on flavour.
  • The service isn't always spot on, with a few reports of staff being a bit cold or lacking that extra smile.
  • Experiences can vary, so you might not get the same level of satisfaction every time you pop in.

unfortunately the food wasn't worth the £12 I paid for it - the pasta was too soft and the veg was uninspiring. I thought it would be courgette and pepper but it was actually baby carrots and broccoli :( seemed microwaved too

Solid breakfast spot with nice seats in the sun. The food was good and service was awesome. Neither of our breakfasts absolutely blew us away but still a decent spot with plenty of breakfast and lunch options.

Absolutely delightful experience! I had the pleasure of dining here recently and was thoroughly impressed. The food was nothing short of exceptional – beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The service was equally outstanding; the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. The atmosphere was cosy yet elegant, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed evening out. I genuinely enjoyed every moment and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

The food was good, the tiramisu were beautiful but didn't taste very good. The waitresses were not really pleasant though, no smile, cold.
