About This Pub
You know, when I think about pubs in Manchester, Woodhouse Gardens always springs to mind as a real gem in Failsworth. It's got that classic feel with great ales on tap and a menu full of comforting, well-prepared dishes that folks can't stop raving about – like their Sunday lunches that are proper good value and taste even better than expected. The vibe is spot on for catching up with friends or a family meal, with a cosy interior and friendly service that makes you want to linger. They've even got extras like a marquee for parties and easy online booking, which is a nice touch for planning ahead. On the downside, it does get heaving at times, so you might find yourself queuing or needing to reserve a table, and if you're not into the traditional pub scene, it could come across as a bit straightforward. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone after a reliable spot for a pint and a bite, with plenty of positives that outweigh the minor niggles.

Recent Reviews
The Woodhouse Gardens in Failsworth is a traditional pub with a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. The food here is generally excellent, with home-cooked meals that showcase quality ingredients and careful preparation. Dishes like the Sunday roast and cottage pie receive consistent praise for their flavour and portion size, making them reliable choices if you visit. The pub also offers a good range of vegan options and regularly updates its specials board, which adds variety to the menu. The drink selection includes award-winning cask ales from JW Lees Brewery, complementing the hearty meals nicely. That said, the pizza is a letdown. Despite being on the menu, its small size does not offer good value and fails to impress compared to the rest of the food. If you’re considering ordering pizza here, you might want to rethink and choose from the other well-regarded dishes instead. Overall, The Woodhouse Gardens is a solid place to relax with friends or family. The large beer garden and children’s play area add to its appeal, especially on warmer days. It’s a good spot for a casual meal or a drink, though you should avoid the pizza if you want to get the best from your visit.
Come here every month with my lovely friend.
We always try something new on the menu and as it was a Sunday this time, decided to opt for the Sunday Lunch.
It was good value for money, and the dinner really exceeded our expectations if I’m honest.
All in all it was a lovely Sunday Lunch so all credit to them. We’ll definitely try a Sunday again for sure! 👍
We popped in after a quick outing, not having been here in year's.
Busy for a Thursday mid afternoon,we asked for a table in the restaurant area, nice decor, overlooking the beer garden.
Quick look at the menu,i decided on the salt & pepper garden bucket, filled with fries, chicken, served with coleslaw, salad & sweet chilli dipping sauce.
Wife had the same but with pulled pork,a burger and fries for my daughter, plus three soft drinks..£49...
Overall it's a great place to dine...
Went for a family meal, we did book and I'm glad we did as the restaurant got very busy.
Service was quick and the food was lovely and tasty.
When we finished went sat in the bar area, this was also busy.
Highly recommend for food and a place to have a drink, very welcoming.
A spontaneous stop for some lunch. Good size car park. Cozy interior and decor. Nice separation of dining and pub areas. Staff were friendly enough. It was a good size portion of food and it was cooked to and served with no complaints.
