About This Pub

Ah, the Dog & Partridge – it's one of those classic British pubs that just feels like a proper local in Failsworth, Manchester. I have to say, what really stands out is how friendly the staff are; they're always up for a chat and make you feel like you're catching up with old mates. The beer garden is a gem, especially on a nice day, where you can relax with a pint and let the kids play in the area – it's spot on for family outings or just meeting up with friends. The food menu's got some real winners too, like their burgers, curries, and that Sunday lunch that'll sort you out for the week. Plus, with offers like 30% off mains, it's a budget-friendly spot for a bite. On the flip side, though, service can drag a bit when it's quiet, which is a shame, and I've heard a few grumbles about the app not playing ball with vouchers or running out of popular drinks. Overall, it's got that warm, community vibe going for it, but if you're in a rush or after perfection every time, it might not hit the mark. Still, with a solid 4.2 rating from the crowd, I'd say it's worth popping in for a laugh and a drink – just keep your expectations balanced and you'll likely have a great time.

Relaxing atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff. I would like to mention that Keighley and Elliott were well mannered, helpful and pleasant. Me and Mum come here quite often and all staff are nice but today we found the staff mentioned stood out from the rest! Well Done

Great choice of lagers and beers. Great atmosphere, really quick food delivery. Staff were friendly, all of them, including the bar manager who helped me regarding an event query. Facilities were clean and presentable. The bar area was welcoming and the bar is a decent size. The food was hot, tasty and great value for money. 4 of us had a meal with drinks. We will definitely be back!

Tried to use the 30% of voucher with the QR code order system. The app does not have provision to use it! Staff helpful and nice. Food service very slow over an hour for meals when the pub was very quiet, not acceptable. When the food arrived, it was impossibly poor

Update! When we arrived at 5:50pm for the 6pm booking, it was busy but not packed. There was only 1 young guy behind the bar and he was serving several people. I wanted a Guinness but there was none and my wife’s choice of J2o wasn’t available either. I told him we had booked and he directed us to table 13. I used the QR code at the table to place our order and about 15 minutes later another young guy came to tell us there was about 30-40 minutes wait for the starter. When the starter arrived I told the guy to please start our mains now to lessen our wait for it and he did. The food for both of us was delicious. No complaints at all. I do feel that the only 2 members of staff we saw for our whole visit were excellent under pressure. They were very busy but polite and friendly and professional. But the management needs to address the fact on a Saturday evening at 6pm only 2 young guys to be serving what I estimate to be 100+ customers is not good management. The management should appreciate how well these 2 guys worked to keep the customers happy and the kitchen staff for making the food to a very good standard. Again a huge thanks to the only 2 staff working who actually saved our evening from being a bad experience. Again the management needs to look at how to improve itself in ensuring there’s enough staff. Overall we were happy because not only the 2 lads worked hard to get us served but the food we ordered was delicious and enjoyable BUT I’m not sure I would book again because in honesty the staffing wasn’t very well managed whatever the reason/excuses.

First time visit, staff were lovely! We tried the Mac and cheese on the festive menu, it was amazing! The chef had asked for our feedback and we gave him a massive thumbs up! We will definitely be returning :)
