About This Pub
Ah, the White Hart, tucked away in the heart of Wolverhampton – it's one of those places that just warms you up with its welcoming atmosphere. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's really come into its own since the new owners took over, with staff going above and beyond to make everyone feel included, no matter who you are. The drinks are a steal, and the entertainment on offer sounds like a right laugh, especially on those Saturday nights with the acts that get everyone joining in. It's got that safe, chilled vibe that's perfect if you're after a spot to relax with mates or dance the night away. But, let's be straight about it, it's not without its downsides – only being open a couple of days a week can be a bit of a letdown, and while most reviews rave about it, there are hints of past awkwardness in the mixed crowd setup, though it seems they've ironed out a lot of that. Overall, if you're in the area and fancy a proper pub experience that's more about good times and less about the hustle, I'd say give it a go – it's got that homely feel that makes you want to come back, as long as your schedule lines up!

The entertainment and music are spot on, offering a great mix that keeps things lively without being overwhelming.
-
It's open late into the night, which is brilliant if you're after a proper night out that goes on till the early hours.
Cons
-
It's only open on a couple of days a week, which means you might have to plan your visits around that and miss out otherwise.
-
Some folks have mentioned an uneasy feeling in the past due to it being a mixed venue, though it seems much improved now.
-
With just a handful of reviews recently, it might not have the buzz of busier spots, so you could find it a bit quiet at times.

Visited last night, wasn't sure what to expect as 30+years ago it was a very different venue but it was a most excellent night.
Door staff were friendly and professional, bar staff efficient and friendly, music not my usual taste but enjoyable, everyone friendly and chill, people dancing and mingling.
Drinks priced about what I expected, not over the top considering they are open til the wee hours.
Me and my partners regular place to drink and chill. Not expensive at all. Lovely door and bar staff. Good entertainment. Safe LGBT space. Ignore the old reviews on here it has reopened this year with a refurb and new owners and staff.
The place since the new owners took it on has been incredible, Dale and his team always go the extra mile and have now become close friends - no matter what your orientation...
Always a great laugh in there with the acts on Saturdays as well - so an all-round great place to go in Wolverhampton...
Having a mixed type venue [gay, st8] never really worked in the past and despite major improvements in equal rights you still get that uneasy feeling. With regard to yesterdays Halloween event, overall it was good, a great mix of people and music to swing the night along.
Having a pool table in the main bar area is not a good idea for such events on say a Saturday night as it gets in the way and also attracts the so called st8 guys trying to show of. There were a couple of incidents around the entrance area last night which only the st8 customers were involved in.
We still have some way to go before everything's equal!
This gay pub takes a far more relaxed approach to its customers than the competition. The new owners are really friendly people too. The music is variable (which is nice on the gay scene) and the Hart is open late (3am) on weekends. £2.50 a pint and selected drinks for £1 blew me away. There is a big young crowd but older people are made to feel more than welcome. Not as cliquey as most gay places are. I found myself talking quite easily to friendly people I didn't even know. The Hart is at the edge of some brown field site which is its only drawback. Inside is nicely decorated however. The toilets were clean when I visited and I noticed that the doorstaff checked them regularly (telling the barman at one point that someone had made a mess - he promptly cleaned it up). All in all, a very pleasant place to visit. It might not be in the best location or have the fanciest decor but the level of customer service is excellent. There is also ample parking across the road and in full view from the pub.
