About This Pub

Ah, Plough & Harrow – what a gem of a pub in Wolverhampton! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, it's got this lovely, welcoming feel that just draws you in. The staff are absolute stars; they're polite, helpful, and full of local tips, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates. Whether you're popping in for a chilled afternoon pint or joining in on the karaoke fun on a Saturday night, the atmosphere is spot on – relaxed and enjoyable, with a clean and well-kept space that adds to the appeal. They've got a decent range of drinks to choose from, so you're never short of options. But, let's be honest, it's not without its little niggles; the lack of real ale might leave some traditionalists wanting more, and if you're there on a match day, things can get a tad hectic with waits for service. Still, overall, it's a solid spot that strikes a great balance, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area for a proper pub experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff and owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • It's got a really chilled and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a long day or enjoying a casual evening.
  • The pub is spotlessly clean, from the bar area right down to the toilets, which is always a nice touch.
  • They've got a good selection of drinks, and it's a great spot for events like karaoke, where the host and some punters can really belt out a tune.
Cons
  • There's a bit of a shortage of real ale options, which might disappoint those who fancy a traditional pint.
  • It can get quite busy on match days, leading to the occasional wait for service, even if it's not too bad.

Great pub 5 stars 🌟 I wandered in when the restaurant I wanted to go to was closed. Came back again the next day to the restaurant and then back to the pub. Very friendly atmosphere. Full bar with plenty of selection.

Wandered in here today after a training course for a much needed relaxing drink after a long day. The Landlady Debs was absolutely fab, full of local knowledge and recommendations. The bar looked immaculately clean, as did the pub area and toilets. Very well presented. Thanks for taking the time to chat today 😁

Always find this pub welcoming and friendly, there’s a good atmosphere that’s created by the fantastic owners and staff who are always polite and helpful. It gets very busy on match days but it’s rare you have a really long wait for service. If there’s one downside it’s a lack of real ale but it doesn’t seem to matter to most customers. There’s usually a disco and karaoke on a Saturday night so if you’re after a friendly drink, a rattle and a laugh I would definitely recommend the plough and harrow.
