About This Pub
You know, I've popped into the Wetherspoon in Bulwell a few times, and it's got that classic pub charm with affordable options that make it a go-to for a laid-back evening. On the bright side, the beer is spot on and won't break the bank, and it's brilliant for a bit of fun with those tasty cocktail pitchers or even a special occasion like New Year's Eve when the staff really step up. Plus, opening early means you can nip in for a morning brew if you're that way inclined. But, it's not all roses – it does get packed out, and the noise from the crowds can make it hard to have a proper chat, especially if there are little ones running about. The food can be a letdown too; I've heard tales of cold breakfasts and missing menu items, and waiting around for service isn't ideal when you're peckish. All in all, it's a solid pick for a no-fuss night if you time it right, but you might want to keep expectations in check for a more relaxed vibe.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer selection is reliably good and always at a great price, making it a solid choice for a casual pint.
-
It's a decent-sized pub with a welcoming atmosphere, especially for events like New Year's Eve where the service really shines.
-
Those cocktail pitchers are an absolute delight – they're tasty and add a fun twist to a night out.
-
With early opening hours from 8am, it's handy for a relaxed breakfast or a quick drink to start the day.
Cons
-
It can get incredibly busy and noisy at times, often with kids around, which might spoil the vibe if you're after a peaceful drink.
-
Service can be hit or miss, with long waits for food when things get hectic, which is a bit frustrating.
-
Food quality isn't always up to scratch – sometimes it's cold or items run out, leaving you disappointed.
-
The facilities, like the tablets and loos, aren't always well-maintained, which takes away from the overall experience.

Decent sized pub in Bulwell the usual Wetherspoons experience good beer average food not the best atmosphere
This place can get very busy at times.full of screaming kids, not what you want if you just want a quiet drink.or eat, the service can drop as well, long wait for your food..
The tablets are left unattended & not clear!! Inside & out! Pretty really it's quite a nice place.
The the loo' s can get quite dirty too... But the food is quite good 👍 & the staff are friendly.
Lovely service and a nice place to go to for new years eve. You can't beat the cocktail pitchers, they are so nice 😍
Lot of the food we tried to order from the menu was told they had run out. Main course and also dessert.
Disappointing yet again. I love wetherspoons breakfast but on my last 2 visit to this one my breakfast has been cold. It felt like I was eating the beans straight out of the tin. The beans, bacon, sausage and toast was stone cold. Very disappointed.
