We bought a bottle of wine to share for our anniversary and to sit outside in the warm weather.
We were given two plastic half pint glasses.
We appreciate plastic for outside but not half pint ones.
So we decided to sit inside instead and I asked for 2 wine glasses instead and the rude barman served 3 other people plus went and did Something else before giving us 2 different sized, dirty, lipstick smudged glasses.
First and last time we come here.
Visited on the early evening of 5th of May.
Waited over an hour for our meal, the room was really cold which didn't help the wait. It was only when I went to ask to cancel and get a refund that somebody came to see us, she said the meal had gone to the wrong table and went to the kitchen, she returned with our food that had obviously been stood for a long time as it was dried up. General we enjoy our visits but this was a big let down.
We attended this pub on a visit from our caravan holiday - we are not locals so this was our first time ever attending this pub.
The service was immaculate, the staff are beyond polite and were lovely from the minute we entered, till the minute we left the establishment. The cleanliness of the place, seemed ok. The menus were very sticky, we ended up wiping them down ourselves, but the tables and chairs themselves were perfect. We got to seat ourselves, which is perfectly fine however had two gaming machines located right behind us, which was fine until other members of public wanted to come and use them (we were a family of 7, so needed a bigger table and there weren't many to choose from) - so an odd placement for the game machines.
The main meal was a bit lacking, we ordered 1 lasagne, 2 full Monty's, 1 smokin' jack and 3 kids meals. The kids meals were okay - the burgers were a little dry but apart from that, they were perfect. The full Monty's were ok, a bit dry and tough and you could tell some of it had been re-heated. The smokin jack was nothing special, you couldn't taste the BBQ and the cheese was tasteless, the fries were also like pellets and the lasagne was just a bit of a let down, too much bechamel sauce ratio to mince & sauce. We also ordered pretty much at the same time, and 2 of our meals came straight away and 5 of us were left to wait - which we have never experienced before, even when we have ordered on separate bills as they asked if we were on the same table/eating together, which we confirmed we were. We ordered dessert and this massively changed our opinion (hence the 3 stars). We ordered 2 candymanias (they are huge), 2 apple crumbles and then a variety of kids ice creams and they all went down a treat. No complaints at all.
The drinks were also perfect, just the main meals massively let our visit down today, I don't think we will return, but are grateful we at least got to experience this pub.

having worked as a chef for 30+ years I'm all for a short cut when it's busy. Even I draw the line at deep frying pineapple! The ironic thing is it wasn't even that busy.I could have accepted this but the reat of the mini mixed grill was also overcooked and dry. You know what to expect at a Chain pub, average at best but even this fell way below expectations. won't be eating here again.
Had a lovely meal at The Wellow in Cleethorpes. The food was tasty, well-cooked, and great value for money. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a nice spot for a casual meal. A special mention to Josh, who provided excellent service—friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. Would definitely recommend and will be back again!
