About This Pub
You know, I had a wander into the Kings Royal Hotel's pub the other day, and it's one of those places that just warms you up straight away. The staff are dead chatty and the locals make you feel like you're part of the gang, which is just what you want after a day out. They've nailed the beer selection too – think proper real ales and a lovely Guinness that goes down a treat, all in this cosy Irish-style setup. Perched right on the sea front, the views are absolutely stunning, and there's a small outdoor area for soaking up the fresh air, especially if you're with your dog, as they're more than welcome. The live music on Thursdays and Sundays adds a nice touch without it turning into a madhouse, so it's perfect for catching up with mates over a pint. On the flip side, parking might be a bit of a faff, and if you're eyeing up the hotel rooms, the pub's buzz could keep you up at night. Plus, with no clear opening hours and it possibly being closed right now, it's a bit of a gamble. All in all, it's a gem if you're in Cleethorpes and up for a relaxed vibe, but do your homework first to make the most of it.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff and locals are incredibly friendly, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
They've got a cracking selection of real ales and beers, like a proper pint of Guinness or fruity pale ales that hit the spot.
-
Perched on the Cleethorpes sea front, it offers stunning views and a bit of outdoor seating for when the weather's on your side.
-
It's super dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry mate along for a relaxed drink.
-
With live music on Thursdays and Sundays, it's a great place for a chat without it getting too hectic, even on weekends.
Cons
-
Parking's a bit of an unknown – some folks aren't sure about it, so you might need to plan ahead.
-
If you're thinking of staying at the hotel, the pub's lively atmosphere could make things a tad noisy upstairs.
-
There aren't any specific opening hours listed, which means it's worth double-checking to avoid a wasted trip.
-
It seems like the place might be closed at the moment, which is a real shame given all the positives.

This pub is a celler vault type pub today it had 2 very good real ales on the landlord, which was very good, and any interior was largely unspoilt.
The music was a type that was like marmite /either like or hate.
This pub was a good place to drink good real ale
Great dog- friendly pub, good beer, live music (Thurs, Sunday), great staff. Very quiet during the week, never gets too rammed even at weekends. Good place to meet friends to sit and chat.
Never stayed here and probably wouldn't with the 'Mucky Muldoons' Irish-style pub which is part of the hotel open to the public below likely to be noisy.
The pub itself though is ace. Proper Irish-style pub décor and lovely pints of Guinness (good selection of other pints available). Friendly staff, takes card and friendly atmosphere. Open mic night is worth dropping into on a Thursday. Highly recommended, very unlikely location for an Irish pub!
