You know, I had a wander into the Kings Royal Hotel's pub the other day, and it's one of those places that just warms you up straight away. The staff are dead chatty and the locals make you feel like you're part of the gang, which is just what you want after a day out. They've nailed the beer selection too – think proper real ales and a lovely Guinness that goes down a treat, all in this cosy Irish-style setup. Perched right on the sea front, the views are absolutely stunning, and there's a small outdoor area for soaking up the fresh air, especially if you're with your dog, as they're more than welcome. The live music on Thursdays and Sundays adds a nice touch without it turning into a madhouse, so it's perfect for catching up with mates over a pint. On the flip side, parking might be a bit of a faff, and if you're eyeing up the hotel rooms, the pub's buzz could keep you up at night.
