About This Pub
Ah, Cleethorpes TapHouse & Kitchen – what a charming little find down by the lakeside! I have to say, it's one of those places that really warms you up with its friendly vibe; the team behind the bar are always on point, chatting away and making sure everyone's sorted. The beer selection is an absolute treat – it's got that variety that'll keep you coming back for more, whether you're after a classic pint or something a bit more adventurous. And the pizzas? Well, when they're good, they're brilliant, packed with top-notch ingredients that make for a proper hearty meal, especially if you're out with the family. It's got all the perks too, like being easy to access and family-oriented, which is just lovely for a relaxed day out. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect – I've heard a few tales of dishes turning up a bit overdone or not quite fresh, and the prices can sting a little for what ends up on your plate. Still, knowing it's a not-for-profit joint that gives back to the community adds a nice touch. Overall, if you're in Cleethorpes, it's worth swinging by for the atmosphere and drinks, just maybe keep an eye on what you order to avoid any disappointments.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
They've got an awesome selection of beers that really stands out – perfect for anyone looking to try something new.
-
The food, especially the pizzas, is generally generous and tasty, with high-quality ingredients that make for a satisfying meal.
-
It's family-friendly and wheelchair accessible, with parking available, so it's easy to pop in with the whole group.
-
As a not-for-profit spot, it's nice knowing that any profits go back to the community, like supporting local libraries and recreational spots.
Cons
-
Some dishes can be a bit hit or miss, like pizzas that end up overcooked or burnt, which is a real shame.
-
Prices feel a tad steep for what you get, with portions that might not always live up to the cost, such as scampi and chips.
-
It can get quite busy, leading to waits for service, and there have been mentions of the place not being as clean as it could be, with food on the floor or grubby toilets.
-
A few meals have come across as underwhelming, with soggy chips or wilted sides that don't quite hit the mark.

Don't judge a book by it's cover, it's very cool inside
The taphouse is staffed by a friendly and attentive crew. The beer selection is awesome and I have found the food to always be generous and tasty.
Staff very friendly and helpful . Service was very quick. Food was excellent and of a very high quality and standard. Pizza probably the best in the town. Yes it can be busy at ti es with a little wait but it’s a local independent business so that is expected and for the service and quality I wouldn’t expect anything different
A group of us came for food and drinks. There's a fantastic range of drinks available but unfortunately the food was really poor. The pizza was beyond burnt and the dirty fries were an absolute rip-off and reminiscent of a late Saturday-night takeaway. There was food on the floor and the toilets were grim. The venue is very dog-friendly, both inside and out. We'd love to return if the cleanliness was improved but wouldn't have food here again unfortunately.
I took the warden and my son to this restaurant, and we absolutely loved the pizzas. The food was fantastic! We also tried the mozzarella cheese sticks, which were incredible, especially with the superb chili and garlic sauce that accompanied them. The only minor issue was that our table was a bit dirty from the previous customers, but I quickly had it wiped down. Overall, the total bill for our food and drinks was £70, and I can't wait to return!

Very overpriced for what you get. £14.50 for 7 bits of scampi and a handful of chips. Chips that are soggy and tasted burnt ( clearly the oil needs changing or the chips have been reheated). The 'pretty' salad on the side was also not fresh and had wilted. Normally you'd be asked if everything was okay, in which that didn't happen we had to say something. Cafe area floor was minging. Wouldn't recommend.
