About This Pub

Oh, Wayland's Yard is such a lovely find in Worcester – I've heard from loads of folks that it's become their go-to for a proper cup of coffee and a hearty brunch. The coffee's just divine, with those speciality blends that bring out the most wonderful flavours, and the food doesn't disappoint either; think fresh, well-cooked dishes with plenty of options for veggies and vegans, all made with care using local produce. The team there are an absolute delight, always cheerful and attentive, which really adds to the cosy, welcoming vibe – it's perfect for a casual chat or even bringing your dog along. On the flip side, it does get packed sometimes, so you might end up queuing a bit, and with closing times around tea time, it's not the place for a late-night pint. Still, if you're after a solid daytime spot that's clean, friendly, and full of good energy, I'd say give it a try – it's got that community feel that's hard to beat.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The coffee is absolutely top-notch – it's speciality brew with rich flavours that really hits the spot, like a smooth Peruvian or a punchy Brazilian blend.
  • The food is brilliant; their all-day breakfast and brunch options are fresh, tasty, and made with locally sourced ingredients, plus they've got some cracking vegetarian and vegan choices.
  • The staff are so welcoming and friendly, always serving with a smile and making you feel right at home – it's that cosy atmosphere that makes you want to linger.
  • It's dog-friendly, which is great if you're popping in with your furry mate, and the central location in Worcester makes it super easy to get to.
  • Everything's kept clean and tidy, from the seating areas to the toilets, creating a relaxed and inviting space for a catch-up over coffee.
Cons
  • It can get quite busy at peak times, so you might have to wait a bit for a table or your order, which isn't ideal if you're in a rush.
  • They close around 5 PM, which means it's more of a daytime spot and not great for those evening vibes if you're after a proper night out.
  • As it's more of a cafe than a traditional pub, there might not be much in the way of beers or a lively bar scene, so it could feel a tad quiet for some.

Excellent stop here, the reviews weren't wrong. And the best cup of coffee I've had for a long time. New favourite food is a bacon roll with a smashed up hash brown in. Not a massive fan of hash browns, and I thought it might be a bit carb heavy - but in fact it was awesome! The service was really friendly. Even better if: the pastries weren't so popular they'd sold out.

Central location, dog friendly and welcome, interesting menu with a good selection of yummy food, nice coffee too! Their long black is massive! Can be busy and popular, but worth the wait.

Had brunch here today. Superb! Tried many places in Worcester, and all were good, but this place scores top marks across the board. Fantastic portioned food using top quality produce, cooked perfectly, and all served with a smile from the whole friendly attentive team. Wish we'd found this place earlier. Get there early though at the weekend. We arrived at 10:40 and had to sit outside...which is no great hardship as the weather improves. For info, we had the full English breakfast and avo on toast, with chai gingerbread tea, and English tea. Highly recommend.

Been here twice over the past month. I returned because I had to have their amazing tea again! The early grey with proper tea leaves is delicious. Would highly recommend. The food is amazing. So far I have had the full breakfast and the eggy halloumi crumpets. Both served hot, tasty and all the ingredients seemed to be of excellent quality. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The room out the back is really cosy and the garden looks nice for when it's warmer. We will definitely be making this place a regular stop!

Super lovely place! Service was great, the staff were very welcoming, friendly, and joyful. Very nice atmosphere, cosy, music wasn't too loud so you could hear the people you're with, generally clean and tidy. The toilet was clean, tidy, accessible, and gender neutral. The food was absolutely incredible, reasonably priced for the portion sizes and flavours. Definitely recommend!!
