About This Pub
Ah, the Horn & Trumpet – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Worcester. I've got to say, from what I've seen, the staff really go the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome, whether you're just nipping in for a quick pint or settling in for a full meal. The atmosphere is spot on, especially when there's live sports on or something like Ladies Day at the races; it's all about that lively energy and good times with mates. The food and drinks menu is a winner too – think classic pub grub with a nice variety, and that beer garden is a treat on a sunny day. On the flip side, it does get heaving at peak times, so you might find yourself queuing for a bit, and the hours can wrap up earlier than you'd hope, which isn't ideal if you're in the mood for a long evening. Overall, it's a solid choice for a fun outing, but keep in mind it might not be the quietest spot if you're after a relaxed chat. I'd definitely recommend giving it a go – it's got that balance of charm and excitement that makes for a memorable visit.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's got a brilliant atmosphere, especially for events like races or watching sports – perfect for a lively night out.
-
The drink selection is spot on, with everything from smooth lagers and craft beers to cocktails and wines to suit all tastes.
-
They serve up tasty pub classics and more, plus there's a lovely beer garden for enjoying a meal or drink outdoors when the weather's nice.
-
Handy location in Worcester city centre, just a short walk from the train station, making it easy to pop in after a day out.
Cons
-
It can get pretty packed during big events, which might mean a bit of a wait for service or a table.
-
The closing times vary and can feel a tad early on some days, so if you're after a late-night session, it might not always hit the mark.
-
While the reviews are glowing, that 4.2 rating suggests not every visit is flawless – perhaps the odd off day with service or vibes.

Came here Saturday (7th June) for breakfast before Ladies Day at the Races because our usual breakfast venue (the crown) was full. Although there were 19 of us, the horn and trumpet were massively accomodating, bar staff were excellent. I arrived later than the rest and even though by this point the pub was rammed, my breakfast was still only 5 minutes after the rest, even with my 4 extra eggs! Cannot fault the breakfast, much better quality than the crown, eggs were brilliant as well as the rest of my Large Breakfast. Will be making this our usual breakfast venue from now on.
Incredible atmosphere with staff that seem to be able to. COpe with the volume and variety of people that have come from the Racing. Amazing night and very lively dancing venue
Don't walk past without going in....
I went with my wife and baby for breakfast and what a pleasant surprise. The breakfast and service beats the competition locally with an added benefit of a sneaky pint if you need one.
All in all a great place and well worth a visit.
Always a great outing, set in the centre of Worcester right in the mix with other venues.. nobody creates a better sporting experience in the city centre like the blower. Top venue for Rugby and other sports as well as a great night out with regular djs and a warm welcome always!
