About This Pub

Ah, HANBAO – it's one of those places in Worcester that always comes up in chats about great eats, and I can see why from the buzz around it. The burgers are just brilliant, packed with unique flavours and combinations that leave you wanting more, and the sides like those loaded fries are spot on for sharing with your group. The staff are dead helpful and get things moving quickly, which is a real plus when you're out for a relaxed evening. That roof bar adds a fun, energetic feel that's perfect for soaking up the atmosphere with a cocktail in hand. On the flip side, though, some bits like the chicken wings might hit your wallet a bit harder than expected, and if it's your first visit, the entrance could throw you off for a moment – it's like stepping into another world, but not always in the smoothest way. Overall, it's a solid choice for a meal out, as long as you're up for splashing out a little and going with the flow.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The burgers are absolutely fantastic, with a unique range of flavours that really hit the spot – perfect if you're after something tasty and innovative.
  • Friendly and efficient staff who make you feel right at home, with quick service that gets your food out in no time.
  • A buzzing, energetic atmosphere, especially up on the roof bar, making it a great spot for a casual meal or drinks with mates.
  • Delicious sides like loaded fries and chicken mac and cheese, with portions that are generous enough to share.
  • It's well-suited for all sorts of groups, whether you're with the family, catching up with friends, or just popping in for a bite.
Cons
  • Some items, like the chicken wings, can feel a bit pricey for what you get, so it might stretch the budget if you're not careful.
  • The entrance could be a tad confusing for first-timers, making that initial step inside feel a bit off-putting until you settle in.
  • While the food's top-notch, there might be the odd thing that doesn't quite live up to the hype, based on a few mixed experiences shared.

A nice place with an energetic atmosphere. The burgers were fantastic and definitely worth trying if you like burgers. The chicken wings were delicious but fairly expensive for the quantity. The staff were friendly and food was delivered *very* quickly. It is a better experience ordering with a person compared to with the QR code, since the WiFi is weak and service is poor. There was good music that wasn't too loud, but the seats weren't very comfortable.

Loved this place on a recent visit to Worcester. Came in for a drink and food before our train home. Sat on thr roof bar which had a great atmosphere. We ordered: Topped Tiger Fries 1 x OBD Burger 2 x chicken mac and Cheese 2 x plain burgers for the kids Loved the food. It was so tasty. Great service and a nice pint. Loved the venue! Would definitely come here again and would highly recommend!

We were in Worchester for the first time to visit old friends. Located a stones throw from Worchester Foregate Street station, this is a great place for a meal to start or end your visit in Worchester. We are so glad that we stopped and had lunch. Great food, service and atmosphere. Being in our 60's I can say we have had burgers all over the world and our son even had a Burger restuarant before covid. I had the special burger on the menu which was the HanBab burger which had a dry aged smash burger,Sichuan Doner, American cheese, pickled red cabbage, white onion, shredded iceberg, garlic sauce, chilli sauce on a HANBAO Milk Bun. I can honestly say that this was the best burger I have had ANYWHERE. I could not put it down until it was all gone!! The Redstripe Beer and smooth rap music in the background made the experience that much more unforgetable. The staff were very friendly and it was nice talking to them. If and when we are back in Worchester, this will be the first place that we dine.

What an amazing experience. Exceptionally tasty food, fast service, super friendly staff. The front of house chap did an amazing informative job and delivered a great experience. The entrance makes you feel like you’re entering another part of the world, first timers like us might question if you’re heading the right way. Overall top experience

The burgers here are incredible!! Such a unique range of flavours and combinations which taste delicious! They offer a selection of loaded fries (the portions are quite large and can easily be shared between two) and sides including chicken and Mac&cheese. The only thing that lets this place down is the service, it's quick, but in a way that makes it clear they want the table back as soon as you've finished eating. This ruined the atmosphere and experience for me as it felt more like a fast food environment rather than a nice meal out. And the prices are certainly not fast food prices, so I expected to be able to relax and enjoy our night. Definitely worth trying for the unique food though, just probably won't go back in a hurry sadly.
